Fantastic flavor, decent price.
In the last several months, I have been introduced to the wonders that are Ethiopian coffee. I have heard from missionaries to Ethiopia that a part of reaching out and loving families in this country is being invited in to a hut and being served some of the best, most amazing coffee one can enjoy. Having recently begun investigating lighter roasts than what I had been accustomed to, I started down this rabbit hole. My first experience was with an ultra-premium roaster that I trusted. The coffee was amazing, and the price was similarly mind-boggling. If this was what it cost to enjoy such coffee, then maybe it was out of my reach. My next experiences left a bad taste in my mouth, literally and figuratively. The offerings lacked aroma, lacked depth of flavor. It's possible they were passable for the price, but having experienced the ultra-premium roaster's offering, it was hard to settle for so much less (both in quantity and quality.) From small batch roasters to more commercial outfits, few could match what I experienced with the ultra-premium, but I thought I'd give Orinoco a shot. The reviews were good, and at $25 for 2.5 pounds of coffee (at the time of writing of this review) it seemed like an excellent deal. This coffee is fantastic. I had some beans left over from my previous purchase, and was pleased that the Orinoco is more aromatic, the coffee produced is more flavorful with subtle nuance and depth that is unmatched, even by more expensive beans. I use an aeropress with all my coffee at work, and the recipe that worked well for me is as follows: One heaping scoop of medium-fine ground coffee into the aeropress (inverted if you don't have the one-way valve cap, with the plunger as close to the top as you can get.) A small amount of near-boiling water to bloom the coffee for 30 seconds. Then fill the rest of the chamber with near-boiling water, and let steep for 1 minute. The result is an amazing, enjoyable cup of coffee, for less than an ultra-premium price.

Smoothe Ethiopian coffee shop quality
It’s great coffee! I have organic light-medium roast, and I prefer the medium roast of this brand to it. Very bold and yet smoother, less acidic than light roast, with a Good price. It tastes like coffee shop coffee, and it’s roasted well. Not too dark and not too light.

Smooth Coffee That’s Easy to Enjoy
This Ethiopian Yirgacheffe has a smooth flavor that’s easy to drink every day. The medium roast brings out a nice balance without any bitterness, and the beans smell great right out of the bag. It grinds well, brews cleanly, and tastes consistent cup after cup. It’s one of the better Ethiopian coffees I’ve found until now, and the 2.5 lb bag is a good value if you go through coffee regularly.

Don't buy it, it isn't Yirgacheffe.
Ugh, regret. I bought the light AND medium roast. They're both awful. This DOES NOT taste like a Yirgacheffe coffee on any level and I'd even bet on it NOT being Yirgacheffe coffee. I feel duped, big time. If you're looking for Yirgacheffe coffee, this IS NOT it. Skip, pass, run, avoid. Tastes like dark roast, which I deeply cannot stand. Gross, gross, gross.

Light flavor
Packaging is very nice, however I regret not buying a stronger roast. This is a very light coffee. So it's ny personal preference. It surely will fit someone else their pallet.
