This is the second time I've bought these bulbs in packs of 4. The first batch all worked fine and I had no trouble setting them up, accessing them from my Amazon Alexa app, and controlling them from my Amazon Echo. In the second batch, two of the four bulbs wouldn't connect to WiFi at all, so I had to send the whole box back and get a replacement. The replacements all work fine, and the company even emailed me to apologize. That's nice, but I'll never get back the time and effort that went into discovering two of the bulbs were faulty and had to be returned.     • Easiest Lights I Have Ever Programed!

I didn't like that I had to add another Light control app, but the ease of programing the lights outweighed the frustration of another app. These lights and the app made programing these lights so simple I programed 8 of them and installed them in less than half an hour. Awesome!

Original headline: "bulb started flickering after about 100 hours of use" Original review: "Not much more I can tell you than what I did in headline. I installed three in the same fixture and one is already dead. I've never had a problem with that particular socket so I can't blame it."     • Light bulb itself is cool, app leaves a little to be desired
Love the actual lightbulb, works well and lots of cool features. The app that you use to control it? Lame at best. Here are the issues: 1. Android app doesn't work for setup at all. Once you have things set up you can use it to turn it off and on and do presets, but that's about it. Thank God I also have an iPad. The rest of the setup notes listed below apply to the iPad app. 2. You're supposed to be able to set up zones, for different rooms. But all that's available to select is living room. The one I'm using so far is in the bedroom, so that's not ideal. Am planning to swap the rest out as the old lamps burn out so we'll see what happens when I start putting them in other rooms, but so far it looks like they're all going to be marked as living room no matter where they are. 3. There are preset looks, and there's a smart function where you can put things on a timer, but so far as I can figure out there's no way to combine the two. 4. Once you set a smart look you can't edit it or delete it. It says you can edit it, but the edits don't actually do anything. The first smart look I set up I fought with for about a week and nothing I did ever changed the way it looked. I could change the time, but that's about it. I started over and the new one works better, but the old one will be there forever because there's no way to delete it. 5. The "gradual" timer setting where it's supposed to bring the light up over time isn't a nice gradual fade up, it's an incremental step up. And it's not so gradual. I have mine set to 30 minutes and it takes about 2 to get to full on. Love the concept. Don't like the app much. ... show more

Never thought to check whether there was a wire connecting the base and foot terminals! Immediate short and now I need to replace my dimmer switch. Poor QA I guess. Edit: they offered a full refund and I took it. Up to 4 stars now. The lights that didn't have a stray wire are working fine. :)
