On my first attempt at a cut the blade pushed over and stuck itself in the aluminium jaws ending my cut attempt. I managed to get it unstuck from the pvc to find that the blade really wanted to go to that side and do that, it was off center in the frame. Once disassembled I found a large diameter shim washer inside to help hold it over, just not thick enough. I managed to get a second washer of not quite the same type inside the frame along with the original and that spaced the blade equally in the frame.. The question is why should I need to do this? Otherwise it really is well done. Large heavy powder coated frames of aluminium. Designed for two hand operation. Also not as exactly pictured.... ... show more

Bought these to replace another pair of orbit tubing cutters that finally broke after many seasons. Looking at the picture you would think it was single handed tool. Not so I have large hands and it was all I could do to get my hand around them closed. To use this tool you will have to either use two hands or put one handle on the ground. I returned and ordered the 26186 model. Unfortunately it wasn't sold by amazon like these, so I'll end up paying shipping on the 26186's. ... show more

great tool.. much easier than trying to cut with reciprocating saw or hand saw. sliced through 1.5" pipe with no issues. Only downfall is that it can be difficult to get a straight cut sometimes it cuts in angle have to use the floor. one hand on handle and hold pipe w/ other and push against floor. Also not very good for cutting off small piece will crack the pipe. ... show more

You need to be like Arnold to cut 2" CPVC even on the ground. Cuts crooked . After 8 hrs I was wishing for a chop saw. Got me through the job though. Thank goodness I don't do many larger jobs.
