  • Good system, kit lacks some essentials
Style: WiFi
Solidly engineered water control via wifi and mobile phone app is preferable to those clunky manual timers, as long as you are OK with the process of connecting to your wifi router. The kit contains 1/2-inch water supply hose that connects to the faucet control unit via push-fit. The 1/4-inch soaker hose connects to the supply hose using clips that puncture the hose and then attach. It's a good system. I wish the kit contained stoppers for the end of the supply hose since I am not running a loop. They are a $9 add on for 2 here on Amazon. 30 additional 1/4-inch fittings are $4 add on here on Amazon. I'll also source 1/4-inch supply hose to run water to a separate container. Note that these soaker systems requires a pressure reducer, and there is one included in this kit. Thumbs up. ... show more

  • Everything I needed in one box!
Style: Standard
I used this kit to water flowers and potted trees around a small patio behind a condo in Las Vegas. This kit worked perfectly. It was nice to arrive with everything I needed in one box. It was completed and working well in less than an hour.

  • Some problems
Style: Standard
Love the product, the problem is if you need additional soaker hose couplings they are really expensive and only online... ended up buying another brand, hope they work....

  • Do not buy.
Style: Standard
Should have watched the video from other customer. Came loose in the carton. Soaker hose fell apart losing 2 feet of hose. The soaker hose pours water out the tubing that did not fall apart. Timer leaks as well so I can not leave it on for the timer to work. Of course all the issues occurred after installing. ... show more

  • Very nice
Style: WiFi
This is a great product, only bad thing was soaker hose, it works in the first foot or so only rest of hose was dry. I just ordered solid line and drippers.

  • Very simple to install, targeted watering, saving $
Style: Standard
Its a nice tool to have especially if you have multiple planter beds. I created a system to automate all my four plants. This is the fourth set of soakers that I have and it works like a charm. I use one garden hose with a four way splitter at the end and water at adjacent times. So great! We were gone for 8 days and every single bed was in perfect shape when we got back. The timers are rugged and should take on some years of use, I suggest that it is protected from the sun for longevity (my timers are inside a black plastic bin). INSTALLATION: If you have enough room to work around (I had more difficulty working inside my hoop tunnel) this is super simple. You build a square with one of the corners connected with the T and on the other side of the T you connect to the hose. Once that is in place you use the self-taping/self-locking loops which will be used to connect the dripping hose. Snap it in place, lock it and connect the soakers. Across. I like soaker hoses because allows me to replant new vegetables in different areas of the soil as opposed to dripping which is fixed onto a specific place. USAGE: I would recommend that the soakers are layered straight along the row of plants otherwise you will need to soak the whole area, which defeats the purpose of saving water that this can offer you. No leaks, no issues at all aside from what seems to be a feature. The hose adaptor that connects to the pipes has a hole that looks like a pressure release valve, however when the system is on water drips from this hole, and the instructions do not mention this “feature”, its not a whole lot of water that comes out, but I am not sure the reason for it. My guess is that so air can go in once the system is off to drain the pipes. Overall, I am quite pleased with this soaker system and would buy it for a new planter if I needed. • Good starter SOAKER watering kit with timer
Style: Standard
The title of this item is a little misleading. Orbit needs to add the work Soaker in there. Yes a soaker hose will drip water out of the hose, but when people see Drip Watering they are expecting to have little attachments that drips water to a specific spot, not out of the entire hose. It also does not help that the only included picture shows a roll of the smooth finish drip hose, not the rough finish soaker hose. The 5 bullet listed items in the main description are correct for what you get. So hopefully if you are reading my review, this helps clear up any confusion on what you will be receiving. So here is what I think of this kit. You get 50 feet of supply line, 4 elbows to form a watering box, 1 supply T and 10 sets of soaker hose fittings to go with the 50' roll of soaker hose. This also includes an easy to use timer. Like most our gardens, they are nor located by a hose spigot. I already had a short hose with quick disconnect fitting so I connected the timer to this. We can then run our garden hose to this connector so it will be hooked up when needed & free to use the rest of the day for other needs. This is then zip-tied to our garden fence with enough slack so we can replace the batteries (not included) as needed. I purchased an additional 4 elbows from my local hardware store so I could route the supply line under some rocks so it would be out of the way. Installation is pretty easy & straight forward. How you route the hose will vary depending on your setup. I am placing this into a slightly raised bed where we are growing our tomatoes & green onions. The included hose cutter works pretty well. I have this same one I have for our lawn sprinkler hose. It cuts this thin hose pretty well. The hose can squish bit but returns to shape when you are done cutting. I did most of my hose by starting in 1 corner, connecting into an elbow, routing to the next corner, eyeballing where the hose needs to be cut off & be fully seated in the connector, cut, press into the elbow so it is fully seated & moved on to the next. Pushing the small connectors for the soaker hose is pretty easy. It does take a little pressure & turning side to side can help. Once pierced you push this in until it is fully seated against the hose. You may need to squeeze the hose some time to keep its shape. Once you determine where you want all of the soaker hose runs, have inserted the connectors then you route the hose where you want it. After I got everything connected it was time to give this a test. So far this is working very well. The soaker hoses are leaching out water pretty good, even a few tiny streams of water are coming out. This will keep these plants nice & watered (as long as we remember to have the water turned on at the faucet). Speaking of, the timer is very easy to set up. You turn the dial to the setting you want to make, use the + or - buttons to change the time or interval & move on to the next setting. There is a delay of a few seconds from when this starts or stops a mode when running the water. Manual mode works well. When you turn this to off it takes about 2 - 3 seconds before it stops running. The display is large and easy to read. I think I am going to get another 100' of supply line, bunch more elbows, connectors, soaker & hose and such to add this watering to 2 additional boxes we have in our garden area along with a back area. This way we can water our entire veggie garden pretty easily and separately from the lawn sprinkler system using the timer that this came with. There seems to be a lot of different accessories that can be added to this line of garden watering including drip :-) So overall I would say I do like this starter set so far. ... show more
