    • Quality Signal - Tough setup
The system was easy to set up - until you have a problem. Replacing my existing Linksys Router with the Orbi Router was smooth; continued using the same network name and password. Adding the 1st Satellite from Orbi was basically automatic. However, adding the Voice Satellite was extremely difficult and problematic. The Voice connected itself not not as a satellite, but to the Router's Wifi that I could see under "devices". Nothing I could do (reinstalled maybe 10 times), made a difference and there was NO help in any documentation I could find. References for support on their website were more convoluted/circular than the DMV and/or SSA. When I finally connected with a live Tech person, they knew nothing - 52 minutes of "let me check that", 3 dropped calls where they called me back and they where they did not confirmed this individual's lack of knowledge. When I found another window of ~4hours free and connected again with Tech Support, this individual was knowledgeable and attacked the issue directly. However, it was nothing I could have EVER figured out myself. We went through 20-30 minutes of reconfiguration of getting the Voice device to be set up in its Satellite mode. It was a myriad of "push this, hold that, wait for flashing, wait for solid, power-off, power-on" etc. She knew what she was talking about and was quite patient. In the end, they system is now set up properly and works well. User Suggestions: 1) Set up the system - all three devices - in the same room, then move the satellites where you want them. You may need to access them simultaneously. 2) Get and keep Tech Support's phone number 3) If you run into a problem and the issue is not directly answered in the (quite thin) documentation, do not dig - just get a beer and call Tech Support. 4) If you get someone who does not know what they're talking about, hang up and call back. apparently there is a vast difference in competencies. 5) if you have a problem, be patient ----- very patient. ... show more

    • Netgear is unable to support the Speaker Satellite unit - They claim it was built in 2018 - OLD.
I contacted Netgear to provide assistance in installing the Speaker Satellite - Cell phone app does not install it, but must to installed manually. Upon contacting Netgear they inform me that this Speaker Satellite was manufactured in 2018 and it was not sold by Amazon. Therefore, they will not service my request for assistance because their warranty is for one year and technical support is for only 90 days. Netgear requested I provide Proof of Purchase. I presented a copy from Amazon, but Netgear still think I purchased the Speaker Satellite from a non-approved third party vendor. The box has a date denoted "2019", so the unit was NOT built in 2018, and is a new unit sold by Amazon. If Netgear persists, the whole unit going to be returned to Amazon. To much BS. ... show more

Please dont buy the Harmon Kardon speaker mesh wifi mesh. The Harmon Kardon will just NOT work. I mean just NOT work. I wasted my precious 4 hrs with NetGear Tech Support and was a TOTAL waste of time. 1 week after I bought the product the tech support expired although I was supposed to have 90 days free tech support. This basically means either Amazon or NetGear shipped something which was a old stock. I was told by one of the tech support agent that my Harmon Kardon speaker had a 2018 manufacturing date. Surprising thing was this Orbi Voice was a new release as of August 24th. In any case never going back to NetGear products ever again. I wish I could give NetGear support a negative 5 rating!! ... show more

    • Doesn't really work
My house is a ranch with a basement, where the router is, and a living level with an addition. Wifi reception was bad in the addition, so we got the Orbi to improve it. Guess what? It didn't improve it. The house is 50' long and 20' wide, built in 1959, an old brick thing. I'm not talking some sprawling, multi-level new McMansion here. And the Orbi did nothing to improve our cell phone reception. Really, a waste of money, for us. ... show more

    • So exciting to be up to speed!!
Purchased three pack with speaker on holiday special. I realized this is the older model, but where I live, will never have blazing fast internet or fiber. This replaced older (10 years at least) Netgear router. I am somewhat technically savvy, installation took about half hour following prompts from app. Now having mesh coverage, speed test went from 10mbps to 110mbps in most areas of house. If you wanted that speed with old router, you had to camp out in the same room. So happy with purchase. Added bonus of speaker with very nice sound quality. Glad I bought it for myself.     • Orbi voice satellite is junk
What you're getting is the modem and two satellites. One of the satellites is the or I voice which is the Alexa version (RBS40V), and it rarely works. I have to reboot and reset it constantly for it join the network. The modem and other satellite (RBS40V) work as they should. We have a big property and have one of the satellites in an outbuilding close by. When everything is working properly, the speed and coverage is great. Customer service is less than helpful. I called 6 months after buying it to attempt to get the RBS40V to connect and they said I had to pay a subscription to receive help.... I would go with a other company altogether for if it weren't for the parental controls that this router offers. For the money, it's not worth it. I previously owned the Google wifi mesh router and it was far more reliable than this. If tempted to purchase this mesh system, find a system without the orbi voice satellite (RBS40V). ... show more

Much better wifi in my house now, I used ethernet cable as a back-haul and I get great WiFi on all three floors. I can easily do stream video, surf and run a couple video chats at the same time. One complaint is the voice enabled satellite is a little slow to respond and does not give an audible 'ding' when saying 'Alexa', but the music quality is pretty decent for a smallish mono speaker. ... show more

    • Don't like the speaker unit
I'm not tech savvy and the setup wasn't very friendly. I'm not happy the 3 router + satellites set I needed had to come with the speaker unit. So I might send back and get a 2 unit to pair with my router. I'm still having buffering problems and dropped calls that these 3 units should have fixed the problem. ... show more
