My experience may not be your experience but I recommend you try creatine supplementation. I am 71 and I have been lifting steadily for years. Recently, I felt I recovered more slowly and had less energy in the gym. I started skipping days so I could recover. I supplement my protein intake, two 30 gram protein shakes (Premier Protein drinks) and 12-15 grams of protein from Greek yogurt or cottage cheese on a daily basis. Lack of protein wasn’t the problem. I felt it was time to try something new, creatine. By the fifth day of the loading phase (20 grams, 16 caps per day) I had increased the amount I was lifting by 10-20 lbs on all my exercises. I am back to my old schedule and I have reduced my Creatine intake to 5 grams per day. I have not noticed any negative side effects from the creatine. These capsules are on the large side but I find them manageable. I take two capsules in the morning and two at night in the hope that spacing them out improves absorption. ... show more

I've ordered these over and over again. The main reason ---- other companies make you take 4 pills per dose. This one is 2 pills for a dose. That makes a difference in expense and energy. They are easy to take and have no flavor whatsoever. I can't speak to weight loss because I was taking it to keep muscle but I would like to think they're doing what they're supposed to on the inside. ... show more

I’ve been taking Optimum Nutrition Micronized Creatine capsules for a couple of months, and they work as expected. I’ve noticed a boost in strength and better recovery between workouts. The capsules are convenient and save me from having to mix powder into water, which is nice if I’m on the go. The main drawback is that you have to take a handful of capsules to hit a full 5g serving — not a dealbreaker, but a little annoying. They’re also pretty large, so if you have trouble swallowing pills, these might be a bit of a chore. Overall, they’re a clean and simple way to get creatine with zero taste and no mixing required.
