This is a thin mat but flexible material. It seems well made and it's nice that there are holes and metal stakes to stick this into grass. Only problem is I ordered the wrong size. I thought I was ordering a square shaped mat and ended up with a rectangle shaped mat which won't work for my fire pit. Too bad, seems nice. Even comes with a drawstring carry case.

So, to make that chore easier and to keep from burning my patio or deck, I use a grill mat. I've had several over the years, and I would definitely recommend them. This makes it a very durable and versatile mat that can be used with a variety of fire pits, grills, and smokers. The mat is also very easy to use. I really needed a new mat to put under my grill to prevent grease stains because clean up is always a mess. The last one never stayed flat, and had a tendency to curl up. This mat is light and thin, but doesn’t have those problems. I did get bbq sauce on it, and a little grease. A little Dawn and water and it was the fastest cleanup that I ever had after grilling. It fits perfectly into a very sturdy bag and since it is very light weight. It would be great to take camping, to a picnic, or to a park. It would work well even to put down for a cooler, or a round Yellowstone gas fire type of grill either on dirt, or on the grass with help of the included ground stakes. On a personal note, I really appreciate the thank you note that was included with the order. They made a point of encouraging you to let them know if there are any problems, and they will be happy to try solve the issue.

I really wanted something to place under my husbands grill as it is kind of old and I’m noticing a few grease stains leaking from it and I don’t want it to stain or concrete. This mat is perfect. We move the grill, placed it under there and move the grill back on top. I was really nervous about grilling and smoking with this under the grill but it has not damaged it at all. It’s very heat resistant. Also, this is great for catching any food scraps or stray charcoal briquettes that fall on it and would normally fall on your grass or your concrete patio. It’s nice and wide and also since it was getting a little greasy and dusty I went out there and cleaned it, and it cleans up very nicely and easily.

We have a three burner grill that is a smaller standard type of grill that will be stationary on the patio year round. Since we had gotten a cover to keep it protected from the elements it only made sense to get a mat to take care of the concrete under it. Easy to roll out, easy to clean, and does a great job.

This 3-layer mat is the perfect add on for under the grill. It's definitely a great piece to have, especially when the grease starts to drip onto the concrete area like we've experienced prior summers. This mat will not only protect the grilling area concrete but we intend to use it during the fall under our firepit that we usually use a tarp under but the tarp isn't heat and fire proof like this mat. I recommend it to anyone that uses a grill or other fire object as a barrier.

Over the years I’ve purchased just about every kind of fireplace “fire resistant” rug to protect the floor in front of our wood stove, yet all of them ended up pock-marked from the occasional sparks. This mat is totally different: it’s very thin and made from some kind of material that feels almost rubbery, although it doesn’t smell. It doesn’t slide on our hard wood floors which is a very big plus. It is also large enough to cover a large area beyond the stone tiles under the wood stove. While it was made for outdoor grills, it really is the perfect solution for preventing occasional wood stove or fireplace sparks from damaging floors. I am very happy with this mat, FIVE STARS!
