I ordered this lamp to replace a very outdated floor lamp and refresh a room. I was very pleased with my selection. The lamp came package very securely and there was no damage whatsoever to the item. It was easy to assemble and came with simple instructions. The glass shade is translucent with a swirl design in the glass which gives it some depth and interest. I like that this lamp is minimal and adds a touch of light to our living room so we don’t have to use the harsh overhead light in our apartment. Not too difficult to assemble. Mine was missing the 2 “connector” pieces that connect the metal ring in the lamp shade though. The only way to resolve the missing pieces was to box everything up and ship it back to the sender which is too much of a hassle, so I just taped the metal together hoping that will do the trick. You would think they could just ship you missing pieces. Otherwise I could just replace the lamp shade if the tape doesn’t hold up. The metal rings and clip-in sections do show through the lamp shade on the top and bottom rim though which I don’t particularly like. I would give it a 7/10. ... show more

The lamp pole is good, and very sturdy. The shade is disappointing - it was difficult to get the pieces to fit, and has a "dent" in the side because of the poor fitting.

The quality of the overall lamp is great for the price. However, the shade is not great. I would plan on having to buy a new shade for this lamp.     • Beautiful lamp
We bought this lamp for our new home office after several problems with other brands' torchieres. This one we really like. It arrived quickly, seemed well packaged and was easy to assemble: no missing or broken parts. We like the glass shade and need that 150-watt bulb to light our office, so that feature works very well for us. We also really like the design, it's a little "art deco". Very pretty. Lamp has a nice, sturdy base so won't fall over easily or "lean". Also, the on/off switch is sturdy and made of metal, a good size (not one of those little plastic buttons that fall off when you look at it...) and actually stays on the lamp, so you can use it without breaking that key feature. Overall, this one is a winner for us and we can recommend it to others. ... show more

    • Simple Enough: DON'T BUY this Lamp
My review is simple: DON'T BUY this lamp. The lamp arrived on March 23, 2021. The boxes looked quite alright as they should be but that's probably the best part of this purchase. Long story short, this lamp is a support of the adage: You're as strong as your weakest link. The weakest link in this case rests upon the twist switch to turn the lamp on and off as well as over supposedly 3 power positions. That switch failed in less than a week. After having been on, the lamp would go off by itself, possibly because something around the electrical contact, the mechanism around its structure, or else. That's almost the exact symptom as what this lamp replaced, but that the other came to that after nearly 10 years of use. There are other red flags. The packing foam rubber for protection looked light and flimsy at best. The threads to screw on post sections have leeway in coupling one to the next. The assembly required utmost patience and effort to ensure each turn would not have twisted oh so slightly to cross to the next thread. After all the time and effort, then we realized the switch wouldn't work. If any reader comes to this far, allow me to reiterate my comment: Don't buy this lamp. ... show more

The lamp shade has to be assembled (one smaller circular frame for the top, two rounded wires that with attachment clips to make the bottom frame, a rolled up fabric part of the shade with velcro closing). Either they included the top circular frame in the wrong small size OR they sent the wrong size fabric part of the frame (looks to be a shade for a drum type of a shade that has the same diameter for both the top and bottom frames.) The lamp shade cannot be assembled because of this. The edges of the shade has been cut bluntedly, causing fraying on the edges. It's too bad, because the base and the rod of the lamp seem sturdy and it's a great height. I would have kept it, even with the cheap looking shade, if I could actually assemble it! ... show more
