Good rod, love the color. Paired it up with some gold 10lb mono line and it looks great. Had an incident where a fish dove down and got into something on the bottom and stuck there. I pulled the boat over with the road to the location creating a significant rod bend each time, the road performed fine. Overall happy with this rod, it works well. The reel crank can go lefty or righty too. Good purchase !

Great rod at great price. This is a great all around light weight rod. I bass fish with it and pan fish with it. I even take it out in the bay for trout and red fish. It does it all. Has a great feel and a great action. A solid choice no matter the experience of the angler.

Decent rob for beginners. I needed a spare rod to leave at another location and bought this. Added 8# braid and it will catch fish. The reel is t as smooth as my Shimano or Lews rods. But it if you do your part, it catches fish.

This was a very nice set to get and I am truly amazed seeing the level of quality of the reel these days. It has been a while, a long while, since I went fishing so this came as a bit of a shock to see. The only thing I would have liked more was if it had come with the fishing line and tackel, so I could just take it out immediately.

Durable rod...smooth turning reel...This thing is a dream! the colors are beautiful,...and this thing works better than most high dollar rods I've purchased. I'm honestly thinking of switching brands after getting this one....something I haven't done in over 10 years! Great rod/reel combo!!!

I'm liking the reel. Very smooth cast and retrieve, good speed, and strong lockup when the bail drops. I have collected quite a few budget spinning reels over the years as IMHO they are the ideal reel to start kids out with, and I have three boys. I mention this not to say this rod/reel combo is a kid's setup, I'm just mentioning that as a point of comparison for the reel as I own quite a few of similar quality. If you were to head to a sporting goods store in search of a $35-40 budget spinning reel, this is about what you'd get. Nothing to get excited about but does the job well. I can't help but really like the colors too. For the total price listed, I'd like to the rod strengthened a little. It hasn't snapped on me yet, but I can't say I'm not a little worried. Given the thickness of the shaft towards the top and the limited amount of flexibility, I'm worried a decent sized fish might be it's doom. I've mostly used this for white perch fishing, and I really like the sensitivity offered by that tip. Given the longer shaft, it's a little bit of overkill for white perch, but it works just the same. The largest Bass and catfish that I've caught have only been about a pound, and the rod has held up fine. I just can't help but feel like anything more may be pushing the limits. Time will tell. For now, I am not deducting any stars for my concerns of what might happen to the rod tip. I've only been fishing with carbon rods for a year or so. I still don't have enough experience with them to be 100% confident in my gut feelings about when they may or may not snap. Carbon is a different animal than the fiberglass resin rods I grew up using, and I'm still learning where the hard limits are. So for now, I'm happy. I'll come back and edit this review down the road if I have any problems.
