Top Amazon Reviews

  • Good Value, Requires Tinkering
The media could not be loaded. Please note; my photos and videos reflect the machine AFTER several upgrades. Read review for details. After hours of researching, my wife and I chose this machine to replace our Glowforge. So far, we love it! It's much faster, quieter, more powerful, and larger than our Glowforge, for less money. That said, this was after several expected/necessary upgrades... read on for more detail. Packaging 1) This is delivered via an LTL carrier, so be prepared. It's not light, so have a space for the to leave it where the machine can sit out of your way if you'll need a bit before you can open it. 2) Don't be a dummy like me and pry off the lid. The top shell of the crate and the bottom pallet itself are attached by a few screws around the bottom of the create. Removing those screws will allow you to take the top shell off quite easily thereby revealing your new laser without nearly the effort and without lots of exposed staples. 3) The unit is screwed into the pallet to avoid shifting. Everything was packaged quite securely. There were minor imperfections to our unit, but nothing we couldn't live with. 4) This unit is HEAVY. We had to move our unit up a flight of stairs, and I quite literally thought we'd never make it. Along this note, the base/stand can be detached from the primary unit by way of a bolt in each corner that's located inside of the various panels. Very easy to do, and necessary for fitting it through most doorways. Initial Setup 1) Their instruction manual isn't great. Use the time you're waiting for delivery to watch other unboxing and setup videos. You'll be much better prepared. There are also some Facebook groups you should join; just search for Chinese laser to find them. 2) The tube does comes in the crate with the machine, but it isn't installed; you'll need to do this. 3) There was a label instructing us to use a ceramic enclosure to attach wire the tube, but the ceramic cap/enclosure wasn't included. A tube of silicon sealant was, however, so we used that along with large wire nuts and silicon tubing to wire the laser tube to the machine. It is very important that you get this right to prevent arcing which is dangerous to you, the machine, and the laser tube. 4) We never tried their included laser tube cooling system (aquarium pump); we bit the bullet and had an industrial chiller waiting when the laser arrived. I can't imagine using their cooling system, and highly suggest a cooler (details below.) 5) We initially had a water leak from one of the internal cooling tubes; this was remedied quite easily by tightening the hose clamp, but keep an eye out since a leak could be easy to miss and cause you serious issues. Cutting/Engraving Performance 1) Our machine's alignment was pretty badly off. We managed to correct this pretty quickly, however, and are happy to report that the machine cuts and engraves very well and quite rapidly. 2) Someone reported receiving an EFR laser tube (well respected brand of tube.) I'm not sure that the tube we received was EFR (it's not labeled as such like other EFR tubes are), but it does have an EFR model number on the label. 3) Their air assist solution is quite weak for cutting wood. Upgrading to compressed air will give you significantly better results (details below.) 4) This machine creates a LOT of smoke, and the included exhaust fan is woefully inadequate. If you're using this machine indoors, you'll need to upgrade (details below.) Overall, the core machine is really solid and a great value. We do not regret our purchase at all, and a 5-star rating reflects such. That said, anyone buying this should realize that a majority of the supporting systems are just starting points. To obtain optimum quality, efficiency, longevity, etc, you'll need to be prepared to make some updates. To make those updates, you'll need to be handy or experienced in using Youtube. Here are my suggested updates along with the major parts/pieces (not exhaustive/inclusive....just the major stuff or harder to find stuff.) 1) The default interior lighting is terrible; you can't see anything because it's so dim. We replaced the existing strip lights across the back and added them all the way around the bed (as reflected in the video/photos.) The LED strip lights must be 24v. Here is what we used: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PWVD357/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_.FtyFb22GWNAT 2) The built-in air assist isn't sufficient for thicker cuts, and there's no way to control it from Lightburn. To remedy this, we use the built-in air assist always, but have a solenoid controlled via Lightburn that supplements it with 10-30 PSI of air from our compressor. You can find a video with instructions by searching. Parts below: Compressor: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CKRLKM9/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_ONtyFbACNH8DJ Tubing/Connectors: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RJ1BYKV/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_SNtyFbV44EWNG Regulator: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RHP8PQN/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_KNtyFbVERBDZW Solenoid: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083DNP478/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_ENtyFbN135CJ6 Pins for Connecting to Controller: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TPL8HF5/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_5MtyFb3E3SE1Y 3) The aquarium pump isn't great for cooling your laser tube. Upgraded to a certified S&A CW-5000 chiller to handle this. You'll also want to replace the plastic inlet/outlet connectors on the back of your machine with brass. 4) The built-in exhaust fan won't work...certainly for indoors use. We switched to the following fan: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FPFVZTZ/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_-MtyFb5WN2A69 With some ingenuity, you can replace the built-in fan with the fan unity from the AC Infinity to still have a built-in exhaust system. You'll also want to selectively seal up some holes in the machine to optimize your exhaust airflow. 5) Lightburn sells a camera; do it! It makes aligning stuff so much easier. These are the major upgrades; we're still tweaking and making other minor modifications such as changing the exhaust fan to only come online when the machine is actually cutting (along with a delay timer to keep it running for a few minutes after the job is done.) Edit: Update on July 15, 2021 - Still loving this machine! It has been extremely reliable, and we can't imagine using anything else. Still cutting/engraving just as well as day 1. And, this is despite it making a trip back down the stairs and to another state when we moved earlier this year. As long as you're okay doing the initial modifications/tinkering, you won't be disappointed. ... show more

  • Extremely Impressed!!! Amazing Machine!!! Pictures include upgrades (not out of box features).
This laser is amazing! It runs so smooth and quick. The laser tube was super easy to install and perfectly aligned from the get go. The crate packaging was extremely sturdy and protected the machine very well. The built in red dot, and air assist worked perfectly. Really well made machine, with lots of upgrades included. The lightburn software and ruida board are hands down the best controllers I’ve used. I did do some upgrades, to make the machine more functional for my application. I added the AC Infinity T6 exhaust fan(See Photo), because I engrave plastics that smell. I added the ultimate air assist, to give me more control of when air assist is on and off and how much air flow is given. I also added a strip of 24v LED’s around the entire work bed (See Photo). GET A WATER CHILLER!!! I can’t stress this enough. For a 100w tube, the water chiller isn’t a want, it is a necessity. For cut strength, tube life, and overall performance. Everything with the laser arrived in perfect working order. I’m really happy with the functionality and performance! Great value for the money! No hassle delivery was so nice!! UPS straight to my door. Grab a crow bar and hammer for the crate, you’ll need it, but pry gently so you don’t destroy the machine before you even see it. ... show more

  • Good Machine but there is a learning curve
Very powerful machine. But if you are new to co2 lasers, be prepared for the learning curve. I would get the water chiller with it.

  • Disappointed.
This shipped really fast. And delivery was easy. Have emailed seller several times over the last 3-4 months with no response. Our machine turns on and moves along the programmed path, but the laser itself will not turn on. We have replaced parts, re-wired, reconnected, and there is still no power going to the laser. Buyer beware. ... show more

  • Incredible Value
A year or so ago I was looking at laser cutters and saw they cost over $20K. Then I stumbled upon these "Chinese" lasers. Basically, you can get the same results as one of those expensive layers, as long as you're willing to add accessories to it. So if you want this machine I HIGHLY suggest you do the following... 1. Join the "Made in China CO2 Laser Engraver Cutter Support" Facebook group. You'll see what others are doing and they answer any questions almost immediately. 2. Use lasers123.com to help you decide what accessories to buy and how to set up your machine. I ended up spending close to $1,400 on additional accessories (water chiller, 26 gallon air compressor, air exhaust, etc), this is probably on the high end because I need this machine for a business. Lasers123.com is great. The only things I found were lacking were its recommendations on how to connect your air assist and the mirror alignment. To hook up your air compressor just skip what that site says and buy a kit from the "Chinese Laser - Air Assist Upgrades and Support" Facebook group. To align your mirrors do your self a favor and buy the laser alignment tool from American Photonics. This will save you many hours. ... show more

  • Great customer service
This is a great laser cutter. Works great, came in great shape. GREAT customer service! I lost a very particular knob, they sent a replacement from China, at no charge. It was a custom size so I would be in a jam when trying to adjust the mirror without it. But the best part it they sent not just one, they sent a handful, and a handful of the little knob screws in the laser head also! Such excellent service! Now if I should lose either of these smarts parts I am fine as. Have several replacements. I was nervous to purchase something from China as there is a language barrier but the respond quickly and have excellent customer service. I highly recommend for the laser cutter itself and for the service. Thank you ... show more
