Description

She's a Lycan princess with a badge, a smart mouth, and a squad room full of supernaturals who never let her forget any of it. Detective Mackenzie Grey of the NYPD's Supernatural Investigative Unit has it all figured out: be loud, never back down, always get the last word. It works on the vampires. It works on the reapers. It even mostly works on her human partner, who'd appreciate it if she'd stop defending his honor in front of the guys. Then a killer starts picking off the SIU itself — something faster than a vampire, untouchable, and disturbingly familiar with Kenzie's name. The squad's down a member, everyone's a suspect's width from turning on each other, and the trail leads somewhere no badge can follow. Between a serial killer with a personal grudge, royal duties she keeps leaving on read, and the two wolves still orbiting her heart, Kenzie's juggling more than ever — and this time, the whole supernatural community is watching. It all comes to a head in a battle that will reshape New York's underworld for good. Crown or badge. Princess or cop. Knowing Kenzie? She'll pick the third option: both, with attitude. A snarky supernatural police procedural with royal stakes and a heart — Book 4 of the complete Mackenzie Grey universe. Read more

    • Great conclusion to a great series
Format: Kindle
Everything comes full circle in this book. I laughed and I cried. Mackenzie met new allies and lost old friends, more Importantly she found herself. In this book the fae queen starts a war with basically everyone. Starts out with Mackenzie working with SIU I to solve murders of both humans and paranormals. She is punishing herself and is in an extreme funk after all the loss in Scotland. I enjoyed the added romance to this book, though it's still a small part to the storyline. Highly recommend the series. Really glad it didn't end at book 3 as originally planned. ... show more

    • 4th I series read in order
Format: Kindle
I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the 4th in the series and I think they should be read in order. Lots of twists and turns and sadness but avoid ending. 4 stars

    • Very exciting
Format: Kindle
I couldn’t put it down and had to finish it before I fell asleep. There were a few things I didn’t like in the story... but they would be major SPOILERS. Main thing was, in vague terms, again Kenzie didn’t tell the person she wanted to cure that the cure would cost someone’s life. Had that person known, she would not have been interested in it and the other person would not have decided to sacrifice themselves for her. Plus she’s not going to take the cure anyways, probably, now that she can kick butt in battles. So that person we loved is dead for no good reason. It was a complete waste, in my opinion. He was wounded, but not fatally. It was like the author wanted to end that story line. I was really upset about it. Especially as we know she won’t want the cure anyway. But either way, the story was exciting and our Kenzie definitely did some much needed growing and maturing. It was definitely a fun read... until someone important died, at least. ... show more

    • Loved this series!
Format: Kindle
Such a gem. Great story line, mystery with some angst romance (my fav). Loved how the main character really matures through out the books. So, great character development. I know the author is good when I cry or laugh out loud. There definitely were some tear jerker scenes.

    • loved it!
Format: Kindle
Loved the series. I had a freaky hard time reading the first quarter of this book but good Lord it turned out great. I cried, i laughed and i got angry but with all that happened throughout this book i still feel a few points got left out so I'm hoping maybe we'll get another book. On another point i read the preview for The Last Valkaryie and ooooh baby it sounds great, i can't wait for it to come out. ... show more

    • Mackenzie Battles the Fae Queen
Format: Kindle
The saga of Mackenzie reaches a climax in this book. She still has alot of self doubt and self pity. But she still cares about her friends and make shift family. Her relationship with her biological father changes as they face battles together. Her relationship with Amy at first appears to be lost but over time and with a common enemy it improves. The action is good. Mackenzie 's indeciviness can be tough to appreciate. Her ability to find her way seems like a series of Lucky moves at times. When she finally gets to battle it takes tremendous loss to get her to win the day. The book is good. The storyline is entertaining. ... show more

    • Can't stop here
Format: Kindle
The begining and the end. All of the things good and bad that have happened to Mackenzie Grey are finally becoming clear. Some fences will be mended and some will be torn to shreds. Expecting the unexpected has always been Mackenzie's way of life. Being Moon Bound after the slaughter of the Luna's and the revolution she has to figure out her way in SIU. Enter Cassidy and we have a new player in the game. I just can't put this book series down.... So on to Book #5. ... show more

    • Omega, 4 of series
Format: Kindle
I loved this series and gorged on four books in two days. Omega is the forth and final (I think) book of the Mackenzie Grey: Origins series. Wonderful and satisfying conclusion to the main plot thread, and the author never lost the tension she started with the first books. I'll look for more by this author. ... show more
