CAUTION! THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK ALREADY!!!!!!! Okay first before I start on this review for the eleventh book I know you guys were probably awaiting my review on the eighth, ninth, and tenth books but I just didn't feel like writing them and reading them again. So here I am going to put them into this review as well. Which I hope won't confuse anyone that is reading this book review. If it does please let me know and I will answer any questions you might have. So for the eighth book that one was called Awakened it takes place a while after the last one. Zoey is back from the Otherworld with Stark and with Kalona back in his own body. Let's just say that this is another filler book. But this is one has a sad ending to the book and I mean really sad. I can't believe that the Casts would kill poor Jack Twist. But yeah sorry about that spoiler but anyone that has read that book would know it. The ninth book was called Destined. That one is also another filler book. I feel like all of these books are mostly filler books. Anyways this book we find out that Neferet is really evil and is so evil that she kills Zoey's mom because her mom has blood from a Native American woman that was basically an Elder. Which Zoey's grandma was but she couldn't find her. Now from that blood we get a creature that is basically pretty weird. I feel bad for Zoey in this book since her mom was changing around but at least she was happy. Now in the tenth book that was called Hidden. This book isn't entirely a filler book. In this one things get interesting. At least in this one Zoey and her group tried to get rid of Neferet. Though in this book and Destined Erin turned her back on the Goddess and turned to Darkness and started to date Dallas. Let's just say that didn't turn out well for anyone. Plus in Destined I believe we got a new student called Shaylin. She was a blind student and was marked by Erik. When she did get Marked she got turned into a red fledgling and when that happened she got her sight back. Along with that she got two affinities. In this book I believe Kalona became the Oath Bound Warrior to Thanatos and Aurox (the creature that was created by Zoey's mom getting killed) also put his faith into the Goddess. Oh and Aurox has Heath's soul in him as well. Now in this book we have Zoey and her group of friends stuck in the House of Night because let's just say that Neferet killed Aphrodite's dad who is the Mayor of Tulsa. Along with having Erin reject the change in this book after getting her kicked out. We have a lot of death's in the book which sucks. They were Erin, Aphrodite's dad, Dallas, Elliot, the other kid that Elliot went to the front of the school to put his loyalty to Dallas, and two humans. This book was actually quite good despite being a filler book. We have had quite a lot of stuff happen in here. Especially with the whole thing of Nicole and Shaylin might be a thing after they kissed. Also I give this book a five star because I actually think that it was quite good. That may say something about it being the second to last book in the series. Though between us book fans I actually like Shaylin since she has an interesting back story and actually doesn't seem so Mary-Sueish like Zoey. Granted Zoey did let the Tulsa police arrest her as she killed the two humans thanks to Old Magick. I actually think that might be the only good thing that Zoey has done besides some other things in the series that I can't think of right now. But yes this is it I hope you like this review!

This is the 11th book in the House of Night series and things are a mess as usual. Spoiler alert: people die. The authors have been killing off a few characters in each book, so I won't say who, but one was semi-sad. I'm making a prediction that Aphrodite will end up being the hero of the series, especially with how this one ended. This book had a lot of things going on. Besides the deaths, there's Old Magick, a new love connection that sort of surprised me (because it happened randomly), a lot of fire, and the reader learns more about Shaylin's gift. There's also a brief mention of Damien's new love interest, but I don't see them getting together before the series ends. I've been liking Aphrodite's character more and more and that continues in this book. Even though she's mean (aka "hateful"), she's still helping Zoey and she has to go through a lot when she gets a vision. They sound like they're pretty painful. The ending of the book surprised me. Well, I was surprised about Zoey. Neferet, not so much. Book 12 needs to get here asap!

Here is why I recommend it (keeping in mind that I was extremely mad at the series for a while) 1. Neferet's back story. I never read Neferet's curse, but I know it's just her human life. In Revealed, Cast gave the story of how she was not nearly as bad even at the beginning of her fledgling days. I found myself almost empathizing with Neferet as I read her painful memories, even though I hate the woman. 2. The couple (which I will not say, just that it is two girls) It was extremely sweet what happened with this particular couple, and I seriously did not expect it coming. The scene reminds me of way back when Stark and Zoey were starting to care about each other before the forty bajillion boyfriends. I feel like the Casts were trying to show that a couple is a couple, love is love. 3. Stark/Aurox situation. I will be one to say that I hate love triangles (or like pyramids in Hoey's case). But they made you feel sympathetic to both sides and continue to hate Zoey. I really love a scene in this book where Stark and Aurox almost bond. 4. I can't remember reading the word 'bullpoopie'. Not trying to give too much away, but Zoey isn't annoyingly perky girl trying to teach us good lessons when she doesn't follow them. However, she does still annoy you. I don't like Zoey even now 5. Aphrodite and Kramisha not being as politically incorrect. The Casts are clearly looking at ways to improve the books, and they seem to genuinely care that people are worried about these characters being socially unacceptable. Personally, I think Aphrodite is meant to be a jerk, so people should not be looking for her moral compass from her anyways. But, by popular demand, they are gradually getting better. I didn't hear as many issues while still keeping the characters like they want them to be. I wish there had been more to the end and no cliffhanger, but this book was great from the beginning and had me hooked. Yes, I started to get a little annoyed with this series for a while, but this one really had a hook without the ridiculous parts. Sure, it was mildly silly, but it had to have to be with all of the odd stuff Cast put in previous books.

I actually really loved this series, so much so that I bought it twice! I wanted to reread it! I fell out of reading for awhile and this series helped me get back into it. I've been bummed knowing that the rights were bought to this book series but nothing has happened with it since. I hope it will one day! I will say some things they say in the book and wording isn't correct with how people talk today. I still love the story line!

This was the best out of all the books! How Zoey is losing it with the seer stone. And Neferet going through her journey we get to see a little bit of her past for those like me who've not read "Neferet' s Curse". Right up till now I just thought "ISN'T ANYONE GONNA KILL HER ALREADY?!" And "ISN'T SHE GONNA FINALLY GET CAUGHT FOR ALL THE POO STIRRING SHE'S DONE?!" But while she was in the foxes den and I saw how far she traveled down the wrong path just from the death of her first feline companion. She thought that Nyx was supposed to save her, but Neferet should have understood that there was no way to save her cat because it's intestines were cut out! That may sound harsh, I mean I would feel the same if my cat had been cautiously mauled like that, but only for a week or more. Not for the rest of my life. And By should have shown Neferet that her cat had joined By in the otherworld like she does with everyone else. But Neferet was raped by her father so she's got some issues and that's ok unless you go and kill people for no reason. Anyway like I said best out of them all, cannot wait for the very last book to come out on kindle edition. I saw the price for the hard back and all I like about them is the fact of an actual book with pages that you can turn and the smell of paper from a new book; the posters on the inside on the sleeves rock too. But the other posters I have are still with the books they came with. Hope this makes many people want to read this and ALL the other books in the series!!! GO HON!!!!! 4EVA!!!

As usual, I won't disclose a lot of details about the book in my review. I really believe it can ruin it for other readers. With that said: I have not seen any other reviews until I came here to put mine in. And WOW, it seems I am not the only one disappointed in this one! Even though you have your usual characters doing the usual thing: Fighting evil and trying not to kill each other in the same breathe. You also have a few "little" (and I mean that LITERALLY) things change up in the story. However, most of what happens in this one, you can pretty much guess what is going to happen next. The best way to describe how this book was put together is this: It seems like the Cast ladies took a couple of chapters from the House of Night series to come and made a whole book out of it. When things actually start to happen, it's the end of the book. Everything before this is just......blah. I am seriously disappointed in this one. The story is still good and you do have a couple of areas where you start to learn a little bit of what is to come. Hopefully when "it" does come, it will be an actual book and not a couple of chapters to make a book. As for recommending it.....I am on the fence with that. Do you need to read it to know what is going on? Maybe "2" things in this whole book are suggestive in what's coming in the next book(s). If you are a House of Night die hard fan, then have at it. If you have read all the others and want to keep going with them, then have at it. If you think you can pick up the next book without reading this one and not be lost, I may have to agree with that. I still am looking forward to the next installment. Hopefully it will be more than a few chapters spread out.
