    • Does what smartphones cannot do
For photographing landscapes and plants, I use my smartphone. But my smartphone camera is poorly equipped for photographing birds and insects in the field. The OM 90mm 3.5 macro lens mounted on an OM1 mirrorless camera fills this gap. The effective focal length of 180 mm enables me to photograph insects without disturbing them or casting a shadow over them. The quick macro focusing and stabilization enable me to shoot handheld on the spur of the moment. At the same time, the long focal length, especially in combination with the OM system 2X teleconverter, is sufficient for capturing images of birds. For many years, I have mostly used a legacy 50mm f2 macro. I have the 60mm m.zuiko, but I liked the 50mm a little better. I have been waiting for a Pro m.zuiko for almost ten years. This lens gives me the best of my old 50mm and the 60mm. Focus bracket means no more need for a focus rail. Images speak louder than worder so check them out (focus bracket, images stacked with Zerene). ... show more
