This is not a high end vise. But it is better than I would have expected at this price point. I took it apart and did some minor filing and grinding because the cast pieces weren't cleaned up at all making rotating the vise quite difficult. I also greased it up pretty good while I had it apart. So 15 minutes worth of work and I feel it's worth twice what I paid for it. ... show more

I bought this to replace a cheap Wilton that cracked due to ambitious use. My fault- not the vise. This vise isn't a top of the line vise and it's priced accordingly. I have nice vices big and small to do jobs that I need a good vise to do. I think the price for this delivered to my house is exactly what I wanted. This vise seems good enough to do the jobs relegated to it. It's cheaply made and cheaply priced. I plan to use this as a beater to do basic rudimentary jobs with. I don't plan on putting drive shafts or precision bearings in this thing. I wouldn't use this as my primary vise unless I had no money to buy something better. The threads are a little coarse and in need of grease right out of the box. So while I don't disagree with the haters comments in the reviews, I think it's unfair to compare it to something else not at this price point. ... show more

    • It’s good for lite work

The first one I received was in m many pieces it seem to be made of fragile pig metal I guess in shipping it must of fell snd broke like glass .. I reordered anc received another one snd sll was well it’s made for lite jobs around the house And projects that will put large amounts of stress on the jaws I used it for bending to form brackets and drilling holes in metal no issues.. but I would not try to form steel and banging with a sledgehammer to form angle’s I feel that the jaw may crack due to the type of metal used. Fir the price it’s perfect for the home projects . I would recommend buri would not recommend for a automotive or any business that will be performing heavy tasks ... show more
