I live in NY, and as anyone from here knows, each summer is hotter than the last. Having an AC unit in our apt costs a lot extra for out CO-OP, but we couldn't take the heat anymore, so we had to get a long-awaited replacement (we had a Frigidaire unit 2 years ago and it was a lemon. It was basically an expensive $1k+ fan, it just ruined the entire experience for us). So far, we've had this model from the beginning of Aug, and it has not disappointed. The smart functions/app were easy to setup, but we still mainly use the simple remote controller. Thankfully, all the functions do work, especially the main one (Cool air). We only need to set it at 73 degrees, and after 20mins, our living room + dining room would be a cool area. When the weather was in the 90+ leaving it on 70 degrees would beat the weather outdoors. The moment we opened the front door, and stepped outside, WOW it reminds us of the difference between living with a powered up AC and without one. Well, that's my honest review so far. if anything negative happens, then I definitely will update, but so far nothing bad to say, and lets hope it stays that way! ... show more

The fan only worked. the ac unit did not work. I called the mini split seller and they informed me that the one year warranty was only for parts not labor, and I was on my own to find a local repair. I called at least 20 companies to repair the unit and could not find any local repair person.I I looked up Olmo's website and got not no results. Since the unit was defective , I tried to call on Amazon for a refund and so far no response.. As a long time customer from Amazon I am appalled at at the lack or response from the seller and Amazon ... show more

    • Cools a large space well; clear operating instructions

Installation was difficult, because our old AC used a smaller sleeve; it required some change to the framing to install this one. We purchased a sleeve made by a third party instead of the Olmo sleeve, because of the very long delivery time on the Olmo sleeve; they were the same size, but the rear flange was smaller on the sleeve that we purchased, making it challenging to install the alternative rear grate that came with the AC. Once installation was complete, the AC worked fine right out of the box. The instructions and descriptions of the features are clear. Our downstairs is much cooler! ... show more
