This is our first ice machine so i dont have alot to base this off of, however we love this machine. it is a bit loud when its making ice but i feel like that is a common thing for ice machines. it doesnt bother us, only occasionally startles us but that is only due to getting used to the sound. you have an option between small or large. i dont notice a huge difference in the 2 sizes. i love this ice machine and believe that it sets a good standard for any future ones i may look into down the road. 10/10 recommend ... show more

    • Works, but how to clean long term?
First off it seems the version they're selling now has been slightly changed from the one I'd ordered on this page about a month ago. Mine has a handle and only one lid on the front to retrieve the ice, none on the back where the mechanisms are. So because of that, I'm kind of worried how I can clean this long term without taking it apart. I can't really get a hand, maybe a brush kind of?, back there. The self clean function just uses the same pump and water jet that floods the back for making ice, so it doesn't really wash anything that isn't going to get rinsed off during normal usage anyway. I guess if you make sure to let this dry out thoroughly between uses (it's not really designed for holding ice for long periods anyway) you might not need to worry about a more thorough cleaning, but it something does start growing back there I'm not sure if there's a good way to address that. It does work for a quick cup or two of ice though and only takes about 15 minutes. Plus with this bullet style it seems there's not much of a scale issue since most of the left over water is going to be flushed out every time you empty the reservoir. It's not very loud either, maybe just a tad louder than my fridge. Barely uses any power on standby and only 100 watts when it's making ice. Nice to have on hand to make some ice on demand. I don't go through ice fast enough for the ice in the fridge not to be half sublimated and that ice seems to accumulate more minerals inside of it. Also partially my fault, but do note that there is a right and wrong way to attach the handle. Basically one side of it is the underside of the injection mold and has all the voids. It's wrapped in a sheet of plastic for shipping and the ice maker was kind of a pain to pull out of the box so I popped the handle on immediately to use for moving it to the counter. Well I didn't realize I stuck it in backwards, and of course it's basically a one way push fit and I don't think yanking on it any harder is going to do anything but break something.     • A great addition to any party. No more running out of ice!
I cannot believe that something so small could make so much ice in 24 hours. We had a family event coming and there is always a shortage of ice. Someone always has to stop what they're doing to go to the store and buy more. So for two days prior, I used this machine to make ice for the ice chests, the beer tubs and ice that went into the mixed drinks. 26lbs of ice total. I was amazed. There was a moment when I did have to start making more because the cubes made are two different sizes but not like the ones you get in the bags. It did start to melt down a little faster than bagged ice would, but that was okay. No one had to go get more. I just simply put the amount of water required in the machine and in about an hour we were in business again. I was in love. This is the best thing to have if you are regularly having big family gatherings, if your a freelance bartender, or if your a caterer. I wish I would have thought to take a video of the machine working but I have had a lot going on with proms, birthday parties etc. Just take my word for it, this is a dream machine. Save some money in the long run and have a stock pile of ice that you will never have to buy again. It was so convenient, it washes up nicely but is a bit bulky to store. ... show more

Received This due to my need for some ice when I need it. 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Well constructed and made. No cheap or flimsy parts. Scoop well made and clear cover to ice compartment solidly made. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐬: 7 minutes. Like that you have ice. Does not keep ice refrigerated but due to the time of new ice discharge combined with the well insulated cabin container keeps the ice pretty frozen. Automatic off when full is great to keep from overflowing. It works and even after you take out some ice it automatically restarts to make more. Perfect. Surprising amount of ice is made with the water you place in it and 2 size of ice selection. Only used the large ice selection. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬 None at this time 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 Highly recommended. This review is for the OLIXIS Ice Cube Maker. I got this ice cube maker to use when entertaining guests. I like that it can make 2 different sizes of ice cubes in a very short amount of time.
