So I have been needing to get my daughter a new mattress for a long time, but as many of you know, mattresses can be really expensive. Plus who really wants to go to a mattress store only to lay on a bed that 100 other people have laid on. So, I was on the lookout for a good deal and a good rating. Then I found this mattress, and I got it on Prime Day so got a great deal. When it came it was nicely wrapped up, and was very easy to open. It was puffed up to just about 9(ish) inches and only had a slight smell. (The smell bothered me a tad but my daughter did not notice). Was I upset about the 1 inch it didn't inflate to? Absolutely not. For the price, and the convenience that extra inch was not going to make a difference. Now to some, an extra inch my just make or break any deal. This mattess is light laying on a cloud (well I am not sure what a cloud feels like)but this is really nice, especially for the price. So, if you are looking for an upgrade on that mattress you have for a long time, then try this one. ... show more

EDIT: 20 month post purchase update (original review below)- So far so good. I felt like this mattress has a little more “give” where I sleep. I’m not the kind of person who sleeps all over the bed. I sleep in one spot. So, when I moved to my new home, I turned it around and it has solved the problem. The area where I slept before shows no signs of the “give.” I sleep alone, so I don’t know how it affects couples. I’m 5’3”, 165lbs (160cm, 75Kg). I do recommend a mattress protector only because of the porous fabric. I learned this on the night of the pukies from my three-year-old daughter. In other news, I recommended this mattress to a friend and she bought it. She sleeps more soundly than she did on her innerspring mattress. I have added the photos from when we unzipped and let the mattress decompress. SHE LOVES IT. She says she read the conflicting reviews, but decided it was worth it because I wouldn’t shut up about it. If she only gets a few years out of it, she still thinks it’s a worthwhile investment because her sleep is so much better and her aches and pains are about gone. Her FitBit has shown a much better sleep pattern. Almost two years later and I’m still in love with this mattress and the frame I bought to go with it. I waited to write this review after having this mattress for about six months. I like to have a product a while before writing a review. When this bed arrives, it comes in a box that is about 18"x 18"x 48". That's an estimated size by memory. You pull the bed out and lay it out. It comes compressed and folded in half. Then, check for the zipper on the bed. Make sure that is on the bottom and open the plastic. The bed begins to decompress. Let it decompress for 24-48 hours. I let it decompress for 48 hours because I was moving into a new apartment and I had the time to do it. I put it on the Home Life Cloth Light Beige Cream Linen 51" Tall Headboard Platform Bed with Slats Queen - Complete Bed 5 Year Warranty Included 008 Home Life Cloth Light Beige Cream Linen 51" Tall Headboard Platform Bed with Slats Queen Bed and it looks amazing. Pros: Comfort! It does NOT sleep hot. I don't feel myself tossing and turning at night. I lay there, and I sink in, but not too much. It doesn't take too much effort to move like some lower density mattresses. Sheets do not slip off and they hold really well, so that's a big plus. The soft fabric covering the mattress holds sheets well and the stitched in pattern does not bleed through on white sheets. When I sit on the edge to play my guitar, it's the perfect height and my back feels great- better than any chair. Cons: I see a lot of reviews about the smell. I have a hyper sense of smell. The chemical smell dissipated in a few hours. I did not detect it at all after about six hours. Get the plastic the mattress came in out of your house if you don't want the smell lingering. The mattress is heavy, but that just indicates the quality of the product. Besides, all mattresses are heavy unless they are full of air. When it's cold, the bed becomes harder. When its hot, the bed is softer. Keep that in mind when adjusting the temp of the room. And when I say cold, I'm talking 35 degrees F. I left the heat off when I went out of town and the bed was denser than usual when I got back. I warmed up the room and it went quickly back to normal. On hot nights it is softer. I doubt you're sleeping in freezing temps, so this isn't a big deal. All in all, this thing is a great buy. I'm glad that Amazon has made it as a recommended product. It's comfortable and priced well. The queen sized one works well with a slat bed and after six months has continued to provide a restful night sleep. My only suggestion would be a little bit more memory foam on the top but as somebody who weighs 250 pounds I hit this bed and I don’t want to get up. I feel like it’s getting more and more comfortable every time I lay on it. For the price there is nothing you’re going to get that is better than this. Yes you can spend $1000 on some thing that is a little more on the memory foam side on the top and in the summer I would recommend putting a topper because winter wise, you’re going to be very warm, but in the summer you might want to put some sort of a cooling gel, memory foam, topper, or another mattress pad on top because it does radiate a little bit of warmth, all in all, I am happy with my purchase because I have back problems and cradles my body perfectly ... show more

We purchased a full size version of this mattress previously so based on our good experience with that mattress we expected this queen mattress would work well in our guest room. Our current guest is enthusiastic. She says: “It's surprisingly breathable and it manages to contour to my body while still maintaining a level of firmness. I don't feel like I'm sinking into this mattress, I feel like I'm being supported by it. I have been getting great sleep, despite my spinal injury.” These are very good mattresses which are soft with good support and offered at a great price. Definitely recommended. ... show more

So when i first got this mattress, I let it expand for 5 hours. It looked fully inflated. Sleeping on it was like sleeping of Uncle Festers mattress! ( My wife and I sank into a puddle of mattress). I was mad. I got the mattress during Prime Days, so I cannot complain about the price of this mattress, but that was ridiculous. But slowly, the mattress got firmer! Now it feels great! ( about 2 weeks after purchase) Overall, this is a good mattress, and I recommend it to anyone. Just remember this isnt like a regular mattress. Firm is not as firm a regular mattress. Its FOAM. But its a lot firmer that just foam. And my back doesn't hurt when I sleep on it (5'8" 250lbs) I am happy with my purchase ... show more
