There's a lot that's very good about this fireplace. It's a great price. The antique wood finish is very attractive and though it's just photo veneer over particle board, it looks like and has a texture of real wood. The finished unit is very heavy and feels solid. The instructions are average - not much description, just pictures. Do pay close attention to the orientation of parts because there's at least one which will assemble two ways and you don't want glue drying before you find out. The fire effects are pretty standard and good quality. The one negative is the fake stone trim around the sides of the fireplace. It is just a picture of stone glued on particle board and it looks very cheap and cheesy compared to the overall look of the fireplace. It's not convincing at all. It should have just been done in the same finish as the rest of the piece. I will likely paint over it. If not for that, it would've gotten five stars.

Nice looking fireplace with exception of “mural” stone on sides of firebox. It produces a decent amount of heat to take the chill off the room. The lack of reasonable assembly instructions though should give one pause before purchasing! Absolutely the worst instructions ever! No online videos available either! It took three intelligent adults to assemble this in 6 hours!

The media could not be loaded. So CAUTION!!!! it does come in 2 packages. Second, easy to assemble, no direction but just pic. But if you can see pretty easy. Just put peaces as shown when assembling. Third it will take 2+hr to assemble. K love you bye

I am very pleased with this fireplace. We bought it to cover the old wood burning fireplace because I can no longer cut wood because of a bad back. The fireplace is beautiful and the heater warms up the living room quickly. Customer service is excellent. I had a question about the shipment being in 2 different shipments and they quickly answered, a question about the remote instructions (not included), and they quickly sent a pdf file with instructions. It is difficult to put together, it took 2 of us about 3 hours.
