This was a very nice upgrade from my other ergonomic chair. I like that the arm rest pad is about an inch thick and you can feel the cushion. The seat is a nice cushion. It was very easy to assemble. They had 1 extra bolt and screw. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The arm rest is a solid plastic and it feels sturdy. At a glance, it does look like cheap plastic, but once everything is assembled, it feels very sturdy. It has a nice glossy cherry brown leather. The air lift worked very well. This chair is a perfect fit for my size, 5'4" at 170 lbs. The previous chair was a bit wider seat. I would say if you are over 200 lbs, this chair may be a bit tight. ... show more

    • You get what you pay for. Beware for sharp points in the armrests

While this chair is good. After you've been using it for almost two years. The material will start to tear apart overtime. With this comes the first problem. The arm rests. As the material degrades. You'll find your elbows and arms being constantly poked by these fairly sharp metal spikes. Can be fixed if you wear a long sleeve shirt or put a blanket over the arm rests. Overall, the chair is alright. But I'd switch out for a better chair once your elbows and arms start getting poked by those sharp points in the arm rest. When I got this one in, it took me less than 30 minutes to build and is super comfortable. I am a graphic designer so I am in this chair a lot, and the fact that I can rock it back and forth is great when I'm brainstorming. Frankly, when I first got the chair, it was fine, more or less. The top of the back has a part with extra cushioning, which was kind of uncomfortable since it was firm and pressed into my shoulder blades, but otherwise, it was alright. However, after about 3 months, the problems started to show up. Even with the mechanism under the chair locked in to keep it from tilting back, the back still leaned back far enough to where I couldn't even comfortably eat while sitting in it, the material on the arm rests started to crack and split (the material covering the cushioning, not the hard plastic), and the cylinder started to behave inconsistently (sometimes it wants to be at max height when I'm not sitting in it, and sometimes it will want to stay at the minimum height). Mind you, despite this being a "big and tall" chair, I'm only barely over the suggested weight capacity of your average office chair, and well below the weight capacity of this one, so this isn't a user weight issue. I'd hate to see what happens to this chair when someone who's 350+ pounds has to use this thing, because I can't imagine it would hold up well to regular use. All that said, it's still functional as a chair, but leaves a lot to be desired. I'd consider giving it fewer than three stars, but I've had office chairs where, after a few months, the arm rests split open, giving no support to the back, so they can't be sat in at all. I had cheap ones before that were ok-- but this was a GREAT deal-- just as good as the multiple hundred dollar ones I've tried- rated at 400 pounds and I'm not close that-- and since I got mashed between 2 trucks in 99 and have constant pain-- my BACK needed this- and the lumbar suppor in it is PERFECT-- not too much- and in exactly the right spot.!!!! LOVE IT.. so easy to put together too.-- OH and arrived 2 days EARLY!!! I have to plan on getting another soon-- my cats have discovered the "leatherette".. :) but I LOVE this chair- SO strong- and comfy.. and MY BACK says THANK YOU. ... show more

I had a wonderful chair I had in my craft room that wore out and had to be replaced. So I bought this one. Was it nice looking, yes, was it easy assembly yes, that's where it stopped. Granted I'm a heavyset woman but not near the chairs weight limit. Since receiving my chair it has flipped over twice on carpet, the vinyl has cracked on the seat, it tilts forward which I think is because I heard a sound like a crack and a brown knob flew off that I found on the floor. Never did find out where it was from. And the real kicker is the fact I'm not willing to take it apart to return it. Always good to have history. It's 2009. New computer desks, file cabinets and office chairs. Today August 2022, same computer desks and file cabinets for home office.We use the 5th bedroom as an office. In 2009 we purchased low end $99.00 each (foolisly) office chairs. Try as we did, could not destroy those inexpensive vinyl chairs. In late 2017 the chairs were getting tired. Maybe we were also. We purchased on sale (2) La-Z-Boy leather computer chairs in January 2018 at $199.99. Thought they would last for many, many years. Hate to say the leather was so worn out when using these chairs max 2 hours per day in 4 1/2 years was very disheartning. What to do? Purchase 2 leather computer chairs however inexpensively. We came across these chairs however the reviews were terrible. What to do? Purchase them and if the reviewers are correct, send them back. Well the following may be of value to folks looking for good looking, easy to assemble, leather chairs. These may fit the need. About 75 minutes to assemble both chairs. The rolling of the chairs, we have plexiglass runners under the chairs over an area rug on wood floors, no problems rolling. Pistons no issues, chairs hold position. We are probably average heights and weights. She 5'9" 170 lbs, me 5'11" 205 lbs. Only issue may be the installation tool provided. Gets the job done however we dropped it at least a 1/2 dozen times. Lastly, we chose brown to match desks and file cabinets. Various colors available. So far these are a tad harder than the La-Z Boys however we think with our use they will probably outlast the La-Z-Boys. ... show more
