Description

1. Open the quick release lever, and remove the nut and spring from the opposite side. Hold the lever and pull the axle skewer with spring out. Completely remover the skewer but leave the wheel in place. 2. Slide the hitch onto the skewer. (The wide end of the spring should face out and touch the lever, the bell of the hitch should face out.) 3. Insert the end of the skewer through the wheel hub and. Replace the spring (wide end out!) over the end of the skewer,followed by the nut. 4. Adjust the hitch to a right angle and tighten the nut by hand and clamp the lever. Connect the trailer with the coupler by a D pin. Painted stainless steel bike trailer hitch for Burley trailers, solid and strong. Bought this to pull a Burley and it works perfectly and comes with and extra latch. We dont need the latch currently but maybe in the future. Good price, no assembly just attach to the bike which is easy. This piece is small enough to fit in the palm of my hand but is sturdy enough to pull the burley with 1-2 kids plus diaper bag and water bottle, so 50+ pounds with no troubles. ... show more

The hitch is great. Fits my old Burley kid trailer well. I had an installation tip I wanted to share, though. My electric bike has a non-quick release rear hub, so when I was torquing the big nut back down with the hitch in place, the hitch kept rotating down. To prevent that, I got a Phillips head screwdriver and stuck it through the hitch holes and held it firmly while wrenching down on the nut with the socket. See my pictures to see what I mean. Worked well. As a side note, I also found that I had to install it with a slight downward angle so it would be at the right angle for the flex coupler on the trailer, so test fit it before you tighten it down. I think the Burley trailer is have is the 2nd gen. It came with an odd mount that rubs against the brake disk on my hard tail. This thing doesn't just solve the issue, it make it WAY easier for me to take turns and maneuver the bike as im pulling the trailer. It also feels more secure and I can leave the mount on my frame whenever Im not pulling the trailer. Its a simple piece of cut and bent steel so it feels very sting and secure. It was a game changer for me. I know it definitely works on a quick release bike but I doubt it would work on a through axel. Solid purchase. I doubt I'll need to by another one but I would definitely recoment it for anyone with the old friction mount on their bike trailer. ... show more

I was looking for a cheaper replacement of the Burley trailer hitches without sacrificing safety. This one by "Odier" fits perfectly and appears to be as well-made as Burley's. Let's hope I didn't make the wrong decision buying this. A trailer pin was included.
