  • Nice cruiser!!
I have not been on a BMX bike in 25 years. My 4 yr old started racing this season, and she is so fast on her Mongoose Title Micro I had to upgrade from the mini schwinn stingray I would ride with her to something that could keep up with her. I dont plan on racing this bike, more just to cruise with the kid and use the bike to demonstrate and teach the kid. I always wanted a 24" BMX and now I have a reason to get one! The bike was packed well. I wouldn't really say it is a beginner bike, as traditionally a person would start BMX racing at an age this bike would be to big to ride, but I guess in todays world 30 is the new 20 so I guess 20 is the new 10? I am 5'8 and this bike fits me just fine. Being a life long bike rider I knew if I wanted to cruise the hood a new seat and post was needed so I ordered that at the time of the bike. Also the crank set is pretty heavy, useable, but heavy and when racing light is right! The bottom bracket has sealed cartridge bearings. The peddles are of the cheap plastic variety. I replaced the bottom bracket, crankset with a hollow tech style, and what a huge weight saving. I also ordered some fancy aluminum peddles, and installed it all right out of the box. You will need to remove the chain guard, and reflectors. The headset is integrated sealed bearings, and very nice quality. The wheels are ok, not sealed cartridge bearings, but they work. The brake, and lever are usable, no plastic parts. I gave a 4 for beginners, as it is on the heavy side for a race bike out of the box. I also ordered a set of chain tensioners, which all race bikes/single speeds should have. There was once a time you could only find Mongoose in bike shops, and they were of top quality. This bike is no different. This is NOT a Wal-goose!! This is a great starter bike, that can be upgraded. I will say this bike is pretty quick, I did not ride it with the factory crank set, seat or post. The bike rolls very well on the stock rims and tires. Some more weight could be lost by swapping the stem, bars, forks, and even wheelset, but if you are a beginner it isnt the most important thing. Its more important to learn technical skills. You can always upgrade this bike as you move up in race class. I did save the crankset for a later project as I am sure I will need a BMX Feestyle/dirt jumper soon enough to work with the kid down the road. I did think abut buying the Title Pro Elite 24, but I think you can build a bike just as good or better at lower cost with this frame. I believe the two bikes come with the same wheel set, the Elite has a CroMo fork and Bars, and I have seen most people eventually upgrade the Elite forks to carbon, which you can also do with this frame. Even with replacing the bottom bracket, crank, and chain wheel to a comparable hollow tech setup i'm still below the cost of the Elite. I have found some carbon forks, and even with that set of forks I would be coming in about the cost of the elite before tax and shipping. Again I am not planning on racing this bike, but it does fly around the track and is making me think twice about it!! I would buy this bike again, and it is early in the BMX season, so I would assume the demand will drop off come late fall, so that maybe a good time to consider a purchase if you can wait that long ... show more

  • Race-Ready at sub-23 pounds
The highlights of this are the frame and forks. I thought I would probably need higher bars because I'm 6'1", but these worked out fine. When I started riding, I was quite heavy (270), and the cassette hub started making popping noises. (I've already lost 30 pounds.) The cassette hub never skipped within the first 2 months of riding, but the noises were getting progressively worse. The back hub seems like a Black Ops with no labels. The rear hub has sealed bearings, but on the drive side, there was only one nut and no lock nut. If you tightened the rear axle, that's probably OK, but the bearings were a bit tighter than they needed to be. The KMC chain was an econo model and stretched in a relatively fast time in about 2 months. The rims are like V rims. I don't know where anyone would buy those separately. The rims are working out fine. They seem fairly wide and are 31mm wide on the inside of the rims. I'm not having any problems with the cranks or the stem. I didn't have a bike and am a returning rider to the sport, so the whole package (with pedals added) was race-ready. Then as some of the parts mentioned wore out, I could upgrade it the way I wanted to. The whole original bike with Time ATAC pedals was under 23 pounds which was impressive. The BB height is 12.5" which works fine for me on modern tracks. On an old school track I liked a lower BB, but I didn't have any problems. The back-end of the frame seems very sturdy in the dropout area. The front hub seems very durable and working fine. They gave some attention to details. I like that they did 32 spoke holes on the front, and 36 hole on the rear wheel. Many parts have black color. For the price range I'd give it 5 stars because the frameset is good, and I can upgrade it as I like when I have the money. ... show more

  • This is MY bike.
I'm 5'11", 240. I wanted a BMX, even though I'm 46. That's what I always liked to ride back in the daytime. I don't want a 24" cruiser BMX. I'm elated with this purchase. This bike will last decades. I won't have to get another bike if I don't want to. It fits me just fine (21.75" top tube on the XXL version). It doesn't feel small, it feels like the perfect BMX for a really tall youngster or a big old, big-body cat like me. Public service announcement: you're not supposed to spend too much time on the uncomfortable seat it comes with, you ride a BMX standing on the pedals for speed, shock absorbtion, balance, and all that. I still bought a seat and a layback seat post (27.2mm) for when I get tired. You don't need a tool to adjust the seat height. I want to ride this thing all the time. It's TOO fun. And it looks so good (the stickers were easy to remove). This bike is worth the money. Knowing what I know now, this has got to be the best value out there for a brand new bicycle. This Chinese factory is the real deal. I had to send a Diamondback back before taking a chance on this 'goose. ... show more

  • Excellent racing bike almost race ready out of the box. Excellent racing bike almost race ready out of the box.
Was looking for a complete race ready bike with quality components for $400-$600. After some shopping around and reading reviews this one seemed to be the best deal. It arrived quickly with no damage or missing parts. It’s mostly assembled and the rest of the assembly is rather easy with some basic tools most everyone has at home. After looking over the quality of the parts and taking It out on a few rides I’d say this is an excellent bike that’s basically ready to race right out of the box. I gave it a 4 but it’s probably more like a 4.5 but that’s not an option. The deduction is for 5 issues I had 4 of which are mostly minor complaints. 1st issue I had was the brake handle. It’s really long like you’d see on a motorcycle. Besides being a little unnecessary added weight it’s also something that could get bent or broken in a crash or perhaps caught on another rides pants or shirt in a close racing situation. It works fine but I will be replacing it. 2nd the seat pole is too short for casual street riding. It’s padded for street riding but way too short and at a funny angle. The should’ve either made it slightly longer or just saved putting padding on It that’s just more added weight that’s unnecessary. 3rd issue is the chain seems pretty flimsy and cheap. It works fine again and may be no issue for most people but it too will be replaced. 4th issue is being an aluminum frame they should’ve included chain tensioners. Any ruder that rides hard is going to have issues with the chain creeping up which could lead to a popped chain plus It will shred the hell out of the aluminum when It does. This was noted by many others and I resolved it by ordering the tensioners at the same time I ordered the bike. The 5th and last issue was the only one that I’d consider a major issue. The pedals that come with the bike are complete junk. They’re plastic and don’t spin freely at all. I was never going to use the stock pedal anyway as I have clipless pedals but nobody should use those pieces of junk. Just expect to buy pedals for this bike if you don’t already have an extra pair. They really should use a better set of metal platform pedals on a race bike designed for a larger rider. One other thing for taller riders the top tube on the Pro XL is only 21.25” instead of the usual 21.5” so if you’re over 5’11” you’ll probably want to go with the Pro XXL. Overall this is a great bike for this price definitely an incredible value and I would recommend It to anyone looking for a ready to race bike that won’t break the bank. Can buy It on the 6 month EZ pay plan for only around $90 a month which is what I opted to do. Hope the review wasn’t too long and was helpful. ... show more

  • Interested in BMX Racing? This is the Perfect entry level race rig
A 4x4 truck is not an SUV and an SUV is not a car. A MTB is not a road bike and a road bike is not a BMX bike. Within BMX, a racing "rig" is not a "freestyle" rig (doing tricks like at skate parks--those bikes are beefier and about 10lbs heavier) nor is it a riding around town bike IF you want to sit down. I say this because some of the negative reviews regarding the bike. For example, in racing you maybe sit for 10 seconds at the start of a race. The seat angle, while uncomfortable for regular riding is actually perfect when you are sitting on a 15-20 degree incline at the starting gate. This is a fantastic entry level bike if someone is considering BMX racing. Other entry level bikes cost twice as much. (I got mine for $450 here in Nov 2020). The difference btwn the "Title Elite" and the "Elite" is similar to the difference btwn the mustang v8 GT and the v6 mustang. The former has upgraded drivetrain, wheels, etc. This is meant to be used for racing. I love mine. It allowed me to enter the sport at a novice level and feel competitive. Yes, I did replace the pedals and added chain tensioners like others recommended but it was about 22lbs out of the box. You can easily get it to under 20 by swapping tires and the forks. Mine was well packaged, arrived very quickly, and had no missing parts. It has gone thru 15 races and nothing has broken. ... show more

  • Good bike
Our son loves it! He worked every odd job he could get for months to get this one instead of a cheaper bike. The bike is deceptively light in weight, but it is solidly built. It is small for its size, so if there's a question, go with the larger size. One wheel doesn't have a common axle bolt, but rather you screw 2 bolts into it, so pegs can't be added. That being said, if you are thinking of add-ons, go to Mongoose first so that you know that they'll fit. So, yes, its expensive, but its built to perform and I have no doubt that it will last for as long as he can ride it. Hold it up next to a "similar" bike at Target or Walmart and you'll immediately see and feel the difference. ... show more

  • Light fast fun bmx bike
I needed a bike to ride back and forth on my farm that was quick and simple. I grew up in the bmx scene so i wanted a bmx bike just to scratch that old itch. This is a fun bike and took me right back to the good old days. Its light easy to throw around wheelies nice. It has a REALLY well constructed frame fantastic quality build. I'm not a huge fan of the tires for gravel like I'm always on but the do work decently. Works really well for what I wanted it for. ... show more
