Surprisingly well-built e reader. I bought this to read some books, but all the other options are quite expensive and I found this one. I was hesitant because it had only two reviews, but I bought it anyway because it was most reasonable one in terms of price. After I bought it, i was surprised that it is very well-built, doesn't feel like cheap, and do exactly what it should do, which is download some apps, and reading a book from that app. It is bit sluggish for your first set up, probably because of the small ram size, so if you prefer faster device, buy 64 gb option. Do not buy. I returned it the day after I received it...at that point I'd had to charge the battery THREE times. The screen is glitchy, hooking up to WiFi and Bluetooth was clunky with the display pulsing after every single entry of every letter or character. Thankfully Amazon returns are super easy, we have a Whole Foods in town, but what a disappointment this e-reader was. Do not buy! ... show more

One of the best things about the oBook6 is that it is running on a custom build of Android OS. This means you get access to apps on the Google Play Store. I installed Hoopla, Audible, Kindle, Google Books, and Libby. The oBook6 e-ink reader has a really nice screen. It is crisp and looks like a paper book. Audiobooks from apps like Audible work well, but playing files from a local library is not easy because of limitations of the oBook android implementation. The refresh rate is good and input is pretty responsive (it does take getting used to). You can quickly access device settings by swiping from the top of the screen. It works great as a book reader, but lacks some additional features like a word dictionary. File Transfers The USB file transfer is simple and shows up in the file manager when connected. The wifi transfer works over a browser but is restricted by file type. The oBook6 does not include a file browser, nor does it support com.google.documentsui. This means apps like Smart Audiobook Player will not work because you cannot select a folder. Audiobook Support I paired my Bluetooth headphones and with some work I was able to get an audiobook to play. There is no volume control on the device. I was able to get Voice Audiobook Player to work. Display The 300ppi makes the display crisp. You don’t see the individual pixels and it looks like text. There is a fast and normal refresh rate to improve the drawing rate of the screen. Fast is less bold, shows animations with less stuttering, and has ghosting. It is helpful when getting the reader setup the first time. It could be a lot more capable if developer settings were available, but they are locked with a password. ... show more

This e-book is not easy to use. It really lags. I was hoping at this price point. It would be a better value, but it is simply not. It is on the smaller side, but I knew that going in. It is nice and light and weight and the screen quality is decent. I’m just really disappointed at how long it takes to download books and how slow it is to do things like turn pages. ... show more
