I bought a MEEBOOK M6 last year to load Hoopla/Libby and various map apps for trips - sadly, the M6 did not survive my last adventure so it was time for a replacement. Got the OBOOK6 last week - it is markedly faster and more responsive than the M6 was. It boots up in about 1/4 of the time of the M6. The display quality is great. My only complaints are 1) the default page opened on boot is for locally loaded books and 2) there isn't an quick way to turn on/off the backlight. You have to go to settings and slide the brightness to 0. If you are looking for an inexpensive e-reader that isn't locked into a vendor's ecosystem, this is a good choice. ... show more

This is a decent inexpensive Android-based e-reader. Ultimately I ended up returning it due to the color (blue). If company decides to offer it in black I would purchase again.

This is the cheapest, most basic, ink reader with a back light that you will find on the market. It runs Android so I have had 0 issues with installing library/book apps. This, obviously, won't run social media, messaging, doom scrolling apps. It is exactly what I wanted. Yes, the responsiveness isnt going to compare to a high end tablet. It's not supposed to. It'll turn a page just fine. I read often, and alot. My battery stays charged with airplane mode one for about 3 or 4 days, but I read several hours a day. If you're a lighter reader, this will darn near last you forever on one charge. It also charges very quickly and can use any usb-c cord. It fits in my purse! I bought a generic cover for it. I really wanted to be happy with this product. But after month and 2 days of light usage I accidentally pressed on the screen through the case a little too hard with the side of my leg and it destroyed the screen. The battery life is mediocre. The devicd is laggy. I was willing to work with that. There's no way to contact customer service to get it fixed. Just buy a Kindle instead. I would not buy again. I know people that have had kindles for years with no problems. I'm very sad. Don't buy. ... show more

Was NOT a fan. Couldnt adjust the backlight, wouldnt connect to the wifi. Appeared to be used but not sure because it had a lot of books downloaded already. The size and weight was exactly what I wanted but unfortunately that particular device was'nt useful for me.

Surprisingly well-built e reader. I bought this to read some books, but all the other options are quite expensive and I found this one. I was hesitant because it had only two reviews, but I bought it anyway because it was most reasonable one in terms of price. After I bought it, i was surprised that it is very well-built, doesn't feel like cheap, and do exactly what it should do, which is download some apps, and reading a book from that app. It is bit sluggish for your first set up, probably because of the small ram size, so if you prefer faster device, buy 64 gb option.
