I love both! The Kindle basic and Kobo! I have been thinking about the Kobo Clara color since it first launched! But now when they have the white one and make it easier for me to get it ( irresistible) I know I will love it! I love the Kindle basic, the size and price point! But I wish it has warm light! The technology for the color e-reader is not as good as B/W e-reader! Which is very clear! It’s readable but I live reading experience on Kindle screen I appreciate the crispy texture of the text! The color screen makes me have to turned the brightness on higher than BW reader! And battery may drains faster than the BW! Overall, I still like it! It has everything you need for e-reader! Compact, white and black color, color screen, light weight!, water resistant, audio book, warm light! Very easy to use! Linked with Libby, saved me from browsing on my phone for books ( Kindle) Connect to the Libby, Bluetooth Audio to listen to the book on my car and headphones. And the material that recycles! I love the touch of it! Not a smooth touch like Kindle ( which makes it easier to see scratches) very durable enough that I want to carry anywhere in my pocket, with worry about it! I spent a good amount of time deciding between a Kindle and a Kobo before making my purchase, and after using the Kobo Clara Colour, I’m confident I made the right choice for my needs. One of the biggest factors for me was size. I do most of my reading at night in bed, often lying on my side and holding the device in one hand. Many e-readers feel too large or awkward in that position, but the size of the Kobo Clara Colour is just right. It’s comfortable to hold for long periods and easy to carry around during the day as well. Another major plus is how simple it is to load content. I read a lot of books, articles, and documents in EPUB format, and transferring those files to the Kobo is incredibly easy. Connecting it to my laptop and dragging files over is fast and hassle-free, especially compared to the more tedious process I’ve experienced with Kindle devices. The built-in browser available through the beta features leaves a lot to be desired, but that hasn’t been an issue for me. This isn’t meant to replace a tablet, and it performs best when you treat it purely as an e-reader. Overall performance has been very solid. There’s occasionally a slight lag when turning pages, but it’s minimal and doesn’t affect the reading experience. Overall, I’ve been really happy with the Kobo Clara Colour and expect it to be my go-to e-reader for a long time.

So far i have been loving this E-Reader. Its very compact and easy to handle, and I have pretty big hands, but at 6" i feel like it has a really good portability to readability ratio. The screen looks great, and the text is easy to read, At first I had a little bit of trouble with pinching for the font size, but quickly realized that you can just adjust it the regular way if you press the font button. It's very user friendly, and easy to navigate. As far as the color, it looks a bit faded, as the color is only 150 ppi but this is similar to other e-readers in the market, and the price for this one is much lower. I mostly sideload books using calibre, and I can say that its a pretty easy set up, you just connect it and it will recognize it instantly. If its a compatible file format, you can even just drag it into the first folder and it will just work! If you are looking for a no nonsense, e ink reader with color then this is a great value!

Love the color and quality of the Kobo Clara. It is absolutely easy to purchase books or upload your own. It is perfect size for a small purse and there is no lagging. Love the battery life of it and it is less heavier than my kindle colorsoft.

very easy to load ebooks onto (i buy a lot of bundles from humblebundle lol) and the color is beautiful and easy on my eyes. dark mode works incredibly well and the backlight has a "warm" setting instead of just the usual bright white light. it's simple to adjust the size of the text to fit different eye needs. this color kobo is much faster than any kindle i've owned; this includes the paperwhite kindles. i can quickly tap a book and be reading in seconds or go back to the main menu near instantly. all in all i love this little ereader

I was concerned because of other reviewers that said the color screen contrast and clarity wasn't very good compared to the black-and-white screens, but the keyword here is *compared with* the black-and-white screens. When considered on its own, I LOVE the color screen on the Kobo Clara. It's much closer to the feeling of reading paperbacks than the black-and-white screen. I love the more natural contrast and clarity for long reading sessions. The battery is extremely long-lasting. I read every night, and yet I can go weeks between charges. The weight and size of the device are perfect for holding it while laying in bed, or for taking it in the subway.

After trying several different ereaders I settled on the Kobo Clara Colour as my favorite overall device. The 6 inch form factor is so easy to read on and also very portable. The color screen is absolutely gorgeous. The text clarity and contrast are perfect for my needs. The graininess of the screen is actually a plus in my opinion because the text seems to stand out more from the page to my eyes. This seems to be subjective, with some people loving the color e-ink screens and others hating them, so that's something you really just have to see in person to judge for yourself. I also think the recessed screen of the Kobo Clara Colour makes it a little sharper. The kobo ecosystem is great. It runs fast and operates smoothly. The reading stats page is really fun and it's so convenient to borrow books directly on the device from the Overdrive tab. If you're looking for a 6 inch color ereader this is the one!
