  • So far it’s worth the money
I received this today. So far I love it. It’s light weight and perfect size for holding. The tricky thing is finding a tablet case for it, but I think it’s similarly sized to the Boox so I just purchased one like that today. Hopefully it works— excited to have this added to the collection! This is a lot faster than the Meebook already and color is not as bright as the picture but it’s just enough so you get the idea which is what matters for the 5 secs before you flip the page. Next test is to see how the battery does :) Will update once that is done. Navigation is a bit tricky but not hard to figure out. Love that I’m able to download all my reading apps to one place ... show more

  • I've been playing with this.
UPDATE: I have been using this device and found it to be a total fail. The screen is dull making reading it a chore. Then I tried downloading and installing Microsofts "One Note" and it is so slow rendering it unusable. I used Grok and it said that it was compatible but slow. I can't for the life of me recommend this Neo C. It is very small with a dull screen and after using an Amazon tablet the viewing experience is horrendous. This is my previous initial review... I am a complete novice when it comes to eBook readers. Since it was so compact at 6 inches it made me feel like I could snuggle up to a delightful book, and it conveniently tucks away for transport. My first impression was that it was designed to eliminate glare, but I am a staunch supporter of bright screens like my latest edition Amazon 10" Fire tablet which has a screen that competes with high end gear. It also freely makes Amazon Kindle books easy to download and read. The factory default screen setting mutes the brightness on this Musnap Neo C to conserve battery usage I imagine, but I went into setting and increased it to 100% which gave me the look that I prefer but still lacking. This Musnap Neo C supports third party apps and oddly enough it supports book extensions that have many of the Kindle book extensions, so I asked Rufus in the feedback section ... "Does it support Amazon Kindle books and Rufus replied to the product information does not explicitly mention support for Amazon Kindle books. However, the Musnap Neo C eBook Reader supports a variety of book formats, including epub, pdf, mobi, and azw3, which are commonly used by Kindle. For definitive compatibility, it is recommended to consult the user manual or contact the manufacturer." Like I said, I am new to eBook readers. I have a large amount of Kindle books that I purchased from Amazon, and they are available as digital content. I spent a lot of time in the Musnap Neo C and there are things to learn here, and I did get some pleasure discovering the intricacies. It is unique. It charges via a standard USB-C cable with one cable provided but there is no charger since these days 5-volt chargers are included with too many things so another one isn't really needed. Learning to navigate the screens and the intricacies of the custom program. If I discover anything earth shattering, I will come back and edit this review. I love its compact size and portability. ... show more

  • Works as advertised, good color rendering
I like the ultra thin design and how thin and lightweight this e-reader is. It's screen is just larger that a large smartphones screen and that with it's ultra thin body make this e-book reader easy to carry even in a large pocket. Set up is simple and once on the main screen there is a built in users manual. Connecting to wi-fi, blue tooth and USB C all work flawlessly. During initial set up you can choose between best settings for reading or best settings for video playback. I choose reading at first. The screens color rendering is clear so easy to see the words when reading also the screen auto adjusts brightness which helps. Using this for both reading and video playback the settings are easily adjustable for the media so there is no noticeable lag. It comes with a usb c charging cable. Overall this e book and video player is a great solution for when you need a good quality reader that is responsive and works without taking up a lot of space. ... show more

  • Save your money!
The reader has a very uneven, splotchy screen. I wanted to like it but it's extremely slow. It takes more than 5 minutes just to install the Kindle reader. I'd also be worried about security because it's running Android 10 which is very old now.

  • Glitches here and there
Loved it. I’ve been devouring books on this. Incredible specs for reasonable price as well as lots of freedom for other apps. My only gripe is that it glitches out so often with page scrolling and input response.

  • Very slow, but super versatile and more flexible than tablets & traditional e-readers.
It's a slightly awkward UI, it leaves ghosts behind as the screen changes, and those screen changes are VERY slow. That being said, you can link it to external web storage for your personal collection of PDF texts, as well as downloading the Kindle app and being able to read your kindle books. That combination makes up for a lot of the above issues, because technologically, I'd give this a 3, but the combination of access to my drive PDFs and my kindle books, with an e-reader screen, makes this so much better than either "just" a tablet, or "just" a kindle. The size is perfect for a grab and go e-reader, and the weight is almost negligible. It's an awesome device, and if you are looking for a small but super versatile color e-reader that allows you to read ANYTHING, this is definitely a great option. ... show more

  • Was expecting better color.
My wife said, why do you need a color e-reader? I said it would be cool for comics. She said regulator books it’s only going to have a color cover. I have a comic subscription that had pdf versions. This reader will not read cbr formats that most comics come in. This reader is very light. It has a decent amount of RAM better than a Kindle. I have a paper white with 32g of ram. This seems to basically be an Android tablet with e-ink. It seems to hold charge for a long time. I was hoping for better results from the e-ink. I have a good collection of epub books that I can load on this reader with out converting over to Kindle. It can be used for my comics in pdf versions if I scroll down. Otherwise the print is too small to read going page by page. This will be a good backup to my main reader. I will have to look for a cover for this reader. The price seems pretty high for what it is. I would recommend this if you want to spend a little bit less than a name brand color e-reader. ... show more
