Where should I get my eggs from? You should get your eggs from a local hatchery/poultry farmer. Fertilized eggs purchased from local hatcheries will yield higher hatch rates compared to online, since online eggs are exposed to temperature fluctuations and shocks during transport. How long can I store my fertilized eggs? Prior to incubation, fertilized eggs can be stored for up to 7 days (3 days in summers) in a cool room maintained at constant temperature (55-60 °F/13-16 °C), do not place them in the refrigerator! What type of eggs can I hatch with the OBI-36 Egg incubator? The OBI-36 comes with adjustable rotating tubes that can be spaced out to set small and large eggs for chickens (36), ducks, pigeons and other birds. What's the average hatch rate? Do not be discouraged if not all of your eggs hatch! A normal hatch rate is between 55% and 75% but this can vary due to a wide variety of environmental and biological factors.
