Where should I get my eggs from? You should get your eggs from a local hatchery/poultry farmer. Fertilized eggs purchased from local hatcheries will yield higher hatch rates compared to online, since online eggs are exposed to temperature fluctuations and shocks during transport. How long can I store my fertilized eggs? Prior to incubation, fertilized eggs can be stored for up to 7 days (3 days in summers) in a cool room maintained at constant temperature (55-60 °F/13-16 °C), do not place them in the refrigerator! What type of eggs can I hatch with the OBI-12 Egg incubator? The OBI-12 comes with adjustable rotating tubes that can be spaced out to set small and large eggs for chickens (12), ducks, pigeons and other birds. What's the average hatch rate? Do not be discouraged if not all of your eggs hatch! A normal hatch rate is between 55% and 75% but this can vary due to a wide variety of environmental and biological factors.

I put this to use as soon as it came in, but I waited until the 21-day period was up before leaving this review so that it would be accurate. It does everything it says it will and I love that it is pre-programmed to the correct temperature and humidity levels with an alarm that goes off when/if it falls below those numbers. We had 3 of our 12-egg batch to hatch, and only one of the 12 had the "ring of death". However, we did have a couple that stopped growing after they started to form and died. Remember that this is NOT anything against the product, as that is normal in all hatchings.....only 50% at most usually make it. I have put in my next batch today. I love that it is space saving and can be used for more than chicken eggs. The light on top is not very strong, so it doesn't do egg candling very well; my phone's flashlight does a better job. I really wish it were brighter, but it isn't a deal breaker for me personally. It still does everything else, including (and most importantly for me personally) self-rotates. I will be buying another one soon, as I am getting more eggs than can fit in just one, and my chickens do not like sitting on their own eggs. ... show more

UPDATE- overall it worked as needed. The humidity is off. Using a damp cloth, paper towel, or sponge helps. The only real issue I had was the rollers, they push the eggs to the side wall. I had to constantly readjust the eggs. I'm unsure it is a common issue or if mine was special, however it definitely meant handling the eggs more then the should have been. I had 5 out of 15 hatch. Received package in good shape, and rather quickly. I have it set up, and warming before I place my eggs, seems to work properly. Humidity level is a little hard to control, its reading 24 points higher the what its set to, and about 15 points higher then my other meter. The temperature reading seems to be off around 1 1/2 - 2°. Seems manageable with some adjustments. I will update in a few weeks. ... show more

Please do not buy this incubator. The humidity goes out of control. It’ll be high one minute and low the next and I folded all the directions and it’ll be high and then it’ll get super low to like 29 and if you just put a little bit of water in it, it’ll skyrocket to 72 humidity don’t buy this please!!!!! ... show more

I have had my incubator for about a year now many successful hatches. My wires were cut unfortunately and customer service was able to send me a replacement almost immediately. Highly recommend this incubator and it's custom service team they are great working with you in any issues

First off I received this incubator and it was supposed to be brand new, it definitely seem used there is wear and tear on it already and it was missing the humidifier bottle and the rotators for the eggs to sit on. On top of that I have had a hard time with trying to get it to 60% humidity after it being on 4 hours it’s still at 71%. ... show more
