I am impressed by these covers. Last year I used them at the end of winter here in northern Ohio. When I took them off in the spring, the plants looked beautiful, no winter burn. This winter (2024)so far we haver had a lot of rain, some snow, cold temps, and high winds; in fact, on December 30th, we had 50MPH winds from the west which directly inpacted these covers. They have withstood all of this. The only con would be the time it took to put them together, but we only had to do that once since we stacked them and stored them in the shed over the summer. ... show more

Love them held up so well in NE ohio. The stakes although break when trying to get them in either hard soil or cold. Beware. Only complaint and was easily addressed with garden stakes. Side note - decorated them with stick on decals for Xmas.

I bought this product for a new hydrangea bush I planted this fall. I live in a harsh winter climate and looked for something to protect my new planted hydrangea and this worked out great. It’s very easy to hammer the stakes in place. And I purchased a size big enough for my plant to grow into. I used 4 of these last winter and just purchased 2 more (and am now using some to protect plants that are having a hard time holding up to 95 degree+ days under Denver's mile high sun). They did a great job of protecting 1st year plants from breakage by snow (I did not let the snow pile up and left them in place all winter). They are easy to use, but do agree that the tie strips on the outside could be a lot longer so they could be tied like a shoe lace. Discovered that if I stack them one on top of the other when open, I can then collapse them as one unit, and only have to tie the sides of the outside one - and it holds all of them together for storage. Then if I need one or two for sun cover, I can slide them out from the inside of the bundle and they are ready to use (without having to untie anything). Great protection for your shrubs and bushes. Have held up under Buffalo, New York winters , including blizzards. Fold flat for storage. Stakes that hold corners in the ground, could be a bit longer, especially if where you place them is windy .

These work perfect for protecting my small and medium size shrubs from the rabbits. It also works well for keeping them from getting winter wind burn (disclaimer, I live in the mountains of AZ). Not sure how they would work in colder climates. I have bought several and use them every year. They are high quality, easy to store, have tabs to pin to the ground to keep them from blowing off.
