This is a very well designed unit with temp settings from 95F to 158F. Plastic cabinet is solid, not flimsy, but bright red. The door has a clear panel to view contents in the unit. Very quiet operation. Loud beeping chime when unit is done running to alert you to remove/check contents for sufficient dryness. Unit comes with four wire mesh trays. The mesh on the trays is wide so not suitable for drying loose fine herbs without placing those in some sort of container or on a section of metal window screen folded up at the edges. Works very efficiently for fruit and vegetables, mushrooms. Have not tried the jerky recipes. Beware the included recipe book has a lot of typos, and may not include all ingredients and steps in each recipe. Suggest seller at least update and edit and put a sticker on the booklet with URL for the corrected version online. ... show more

At first I thought this was going to be too small to really make anything, but it fit perfectly in my kitchen because I don’t have a lot of space for storage. It was super easy to use, the recipe book has guides and instructions, although the time frames are kind of broad but I think it’s because they leave it for you to base on your preference. Like we did bananas and the guide said to dehydrate for 8-24 hours, we initially set it for 8 hours and then did an additional 8 hours. The machine is also super quiet, the fan in my bedroom is louder than that haha ... show more

    • Pretty good but missing things
Overall it's a good a machine but it was missing a couple pieces (fruit roll sheet and recipe book). I contacted customer service and they said they will send me replacements. Will update if they don't arrive. Otherwise it works well, I've made both beef jerky and dried fruit with so far.

    • A good household appliance for healthy eating.
I like the size. I did not want a large appliance because of storage and I find this size perfect for my needs. I use it to enhance my raw food eating regimen, mostly. By keeping the temperature below 118 degrees no nutrients are destroyed. Of course, since the unit gets to 158 you can use it for dehydrating many fruits and veggies.     • aking longer and longer to dehydrate. guessing at the 2 year mark it won't work at all
nice and small but afer about a year, it starts taking longer and longer to dehydrate. guessing at the 2 year mark it won't work at all :(

It's pretty small but I was able to dehydrate one apple, one banana and 9 medium strawberries at once. Took around 5 hrs at 149F. Turned out really delicious my 3 year old son loves them.

What a great, well-fitted, little machine. It works well for small spaces and is designed very well. The motor works like a champ as well. Forget big dehydrators!!!
