    • Real cast iron!
The media could not be loaded. I purchased a griddle like this one from another company only it was a stone enamel cast aluminum pan. I keep it because it was cheap and used it until the enamel chipped but it was advertised as cast iron. So most importantly this is real cast iron and it needs to be treated as such. Do wash it after you receive it and do season it yourself. I usually season my cast iron with different vegetable oils. I think I get a better varnish with a variety. I used grape seed as the first coat, then sunflower oil cause I had it, then grape seed again because I got confused as the bottle looked like my olive oil, which I used on the fourth coat. After that always give your cast iron a light coat of oil for whatever fits your dish that you're about to cook. I've cooked hamburgers on the grill side. It's been raining a lot so I didn't want to go outside. The grill worked like a charm. I used canola oil on a paper towel and brushed it on thin. While the hamburger might have not have stuck anyway because of it's fat content, I mixed in onions and other fillers that might have stuck before the fat could render out of the meat. On the griddle side I made pancakes, hash browns, eggs, and nothing stuck because I gave a light oil. So far my seasoning isn't glass smooth yet and I ripped my egg yokes trying to do over easy. For a small grill it does the trick nice markings on my Salmon . Works best on a grill outside. The product is exactly 8 inches not as large as the picture. Please don’t be fooled

    • I wanted to make smash burgers on my grill and this worked well for that.
This product works well as a "flat-top" on my barbecue grill. I seasoned it as instructed, and had very little problems with the food sticking to it. It also works well on my induction burner, although the heat is not quite as evenly distributed. Also, it has a rough sand finish and can certainly sand any wooden or plastic implement down pretty quickly. I intend to sand the flat surface side to a much smoother finish. Also, the little silicon mitts that come with it are useless, and a bit dangerous (as noted in a review on ATK) but they do make a nice recipe holder if you use a stiff cardboard backing to keep recipes vertical and visible. I was skeptical it would work with induction cooktop as the edge around raises the main surface about 1/4 inch. However, since this is cast iron seems to be enough to get a strong magnetic energy for the iron molecules to heat up. You may need to cook at higher setting but it will get hot. Very happy and impressed. One suggestion, preseasoning it twice should be sufficient. I did it 3x (as recommended by manufacturer) and may have put a bit much oil. It beaded and baked on the grill...no biggie. It was very sticky but just scrapped and cleaned it a couple times. I think twice would be perfect for a nice seal. Enjoy it. ... show more

    • INDUCTION RANGE OWNER'S: This product is NOT COMPATIBLE with induction, please read other reviews
This Amazon seller is a misleading and unreliable. This Flat Cast Iron Skillet Griddle Pan is NOT COMPATIBLE and WILL NOT work with induction ranges. Why? Because aside from the iron magnetic properties of the Flat Cast Iron Skillet Griddle Pan, it needs to sit flat on the induction cooktop surface. This is impossible since the entire perimeter of the Flat Cast Iron Griddle has a lip edge that makes it sit 1/2" or 1.2mm raised and above the cooktop surface. Therefore, it cannot obtain the magnetic induction contact required to heat it and will not work. Now we have to coal it up, repackage the griddle and take it back to a UPS store. I should've read previous reviews that mention INDUCTION. I did not read them. if you have an induction cooktop, do yourself a favor a read the reviews then buy somewhere else. ... show more

I really wanted a griddle, but I did not want another electronic for me to store, so I wanted to try this! And it works great even for my glass stovetop! I seasoned the day I got it and now it works great. And it came with silicon finger mits to grab onto it when it’s hot!
