I made a caramel apple cake with this pan for thanksgiving and it was a hit. The design is just gorgeous and all the divets from the design held the caramel glaze perfectly. The cake released from the pan perfectly and cleaning was easy as well. The pan also has a nice weight to it and the sparkly outside is so pretty. For those who complain that this pan is too small, READ the description! It doesn’t claim to be a full size 10 or 12 cup pan. Personally, I like the smaller size for times when I’m making desert for a small group. This review is for the Marquise shape. First the good, the cake bakes evenly and removed cleanly from the pan. I used baking spray liberally before putting the batter in it. The bad isn’t too bad, it got a little dark by the time it baked all the way through. Now the ugly…it is a VERY ugly design. It looks like some sort of mutant. The deep crevices in the top make it difficult to decorate because they just fill up and become featureless. The bottom looks like ugly, deformed toes. It was easy to use, but I personally don’t recommend it because the cake it creates is so ugly. ... show more

I used this pan to make a cake and it came out very nice. I prepped the pan as I usually do with "cake goop recipe" made of equal parts of shortening, flour and veg. oil and the cake released flawlessly. The design is very pretty. I would buy again if I had to.
