I measured the hole, I measured the old item, but it looked like this would be a slightly different length than the hole, so I imagined I'd have to chisel the hole or fill part with putty. But this fit perfectly in the original hole. Sadly, the screws that came with the flat plate for the bolt to latch into were of low quality and one broke off in the wood. Ugh. Someday I'll try to drill it out, but it won't be easy. ... show more
