-Amazon price was half of what others charged. -Tricky at times to assemble— YouTube videos are more helpful than instructions. Watch video first. -You’ll need a large flat surface to work. -Canopy brackets are sturdy and the bracket-to-house connection isn’t what will fail. The connections between canopy and main bracket and canopy and support arms are the fail points—a few very small screws. I know because this is where our last one failed in a storm. You can override this flaw by adding a few more screws to these connections. I also recommend sealing these connections with clear silicone caulking. The canopy is aluminum and won’t rust but the screws will rust without protection. I sealed all screws and where the support arms meet the bracket cups. —One person can do the installation alone since it’s so lightweight but a second person is helpful when putting canopy onto main bracket that is first installed on house. —Diverts rain very well. —Looks good. —Pay attention to the directions in how much top clearance you need. ... show more

Lightweight but very sturdy. Didn't like the very small screws included so I put in larger ones to insure it'll never come apart in a wind. The one I have installed over the back door has weathered a winter and is none the worse for wear.

To the people who have had issues assembling this awning. The instructions aren't great, but the videos available are all that is needed. Also helps to have common sense and be mechanically inclined. Wind isn't an issue either if the mounting bracket screws are installed into the studs of the wall. A good quality stud finder and impact drill are must. ... show more

Great product for the price. Did notice that when the wind blows it rattles and echoes through the wall. This is slop in the pivot bolt holes on the support arm brackets. A rubber wedge takes up the slop no more rattles in the wind. Satisfied with the purchase.

product is good. It could be better with bigger screws or even better use stainless steel bolts and nuts (I did). Also the company could update the directions and the pictures that look like there from the 60’s ???? overall I’m happy with the purchase, it looks good and the rain gutter work well.

Remembered this look from when I was a kid decades ago. Hesitated to order because seemed rather old fashioned. But had a south window with no overhang and room was unbearable with sun. Rain hit window so it was always dirty. This solved all problems. Room is cooler, softer light, and is protected from rain. Luckily window is very high off ground. The side bars would be an obstacle on standard ground floor window if forced to walk nest to it, like on side of house. Other than that, I wish I had ordered it YEARS ago.
