The HONDA CIVIC OF CAT FOUNTAINS! OVERALL : Buy it. I bought 1 in August 2022. The pump failed in December 2022, but I think it was because there is not an auto shut-off, & I let the water level go too low one time, and did not clean the pump intake for a few extra days. Anyways, I bought 2 more of the exact same fountain in December 2022. Interchangeable parts was my idea. PROS: 1) The 2 cats like all 3 fountain options. They are ALWAYS drinking water now. 2) The clear container makes it easy to see when to refill. 3) It is cheap. ($16 to $24, depending when you buy it. 2022) 4) The cats usually chew on cords, but they don't like this cord. Yay! 5) It has a pleasant bubbling sound, like an aquarium or vaporizer. 6) Cord is long. It is plugged in over counter. Plenty of length to reach floor. CONS: 1) The wire to the pump has a weird twist. If you don't watch the cord, you could end up pinching it with the lid (yes, I put it in the groove where it is supposed to go. ) 2) The lid is sometimes hard to grasp to twist off if it is even slightly wet on the outside. Solution : open lid while fountain is still on floor. Maybe next version they will make textured side grabby things. 3) The pump is inside. You have to take off the lid, undo the suction things of the pump. Then, you can pick up the bowl and carry to sink to clean. A short, detachable cord adapter would work wonders. (Like holiday light extension connectors/extenders) 4) Sponge filter provided is useless. I use a mesh filter for the cat hair & other stuff that ends up in there. NEUTRAL: (personal experience, not any fault of the product) 1) We have super hard water. I use water from a Brita filter, but it still gets crusty & slimy. This is not a fault of the device. If you have bad water, you will end up cleaning this ALOT. Do not use a scrubby pad - it will scratch the plastic. I use a dish wash brush. 2) Water level - I put painters tape on the min & max levels. Now I can see the water level. 2 cats = refill every other day, Clean once a week. 3) Wall adapter. It does not come with one. We have so many extras, from other charging devices. The USB works with all our random wall adapters. We don't need any more adapters LOL. ... show more

Worked good. It is a bit tricky to align the power cord out of the tub. The pump needs to be cleaned every two weeks as recommended by the manufacture. It is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to take the pump apart. It would be very easy to break it when doing so,. Not made to be disassembled as offen as recommend without breaking the housing. I bought a bunch of motion control for aliExpress for $5 each, save a lot of money there. Works perfect. Will extent life of pump for years now. You can buy pumps from Amazon: Comsmart Pet Water Fountain Pump, Upgraded Auto Power Off Cat Fountain Pump Replacement. Supplied pump does not have indicator loight or auto off on low water. REcommedn the light and auto low water off pump. Good to have two pumps, you can have a clean pump when you clean the fointain and save time then clean other pump at your leasure. In order to encourage my cats to drink more water, I have purchased a fountain in the past (the style that has a little flower that the water comes out of). Neither of my boys would use it. And now I’m back years later with a cat who just had urinary stones removed, and I’m desperate to help him any way I can. I don’t use the spout at all, it just bubbles up, but the water is still flowing and being filtered. My cat who had the urinary stones will drink out of it (thank goodness), so I feel like it’s worth it. My other cat still prefers just a bowl of water though. Between my two cats water is important. I've always done fountains but my boy just wants from the sink. I've tried dozens of styles and none were ones he was super interested in on a daily basis. I figured I was doomed to just go to the bathroom multiple times a day to water him. Until I found this fountain that looks like a sink. Got it set up and my girl loved it but she's liked every single fountain. Put the boy next to it and he looked at it and took a sip. That sip turned into multiple sips. Now when he goes to the bathroom he only wants snuggles because he drinks from this fountain all the time. So if your cat is finicky and only wants the sink faucet try this one. I bought this for a very picky (aren't they all tho!) cat who likes flowing water to drink from. He had a different model before which was white and the flow became barely a trickle. I bought this one and he loves it! The only sound is of flowing water, which is very pleasant. Easy to clean and fill. (My other cat, Miso, will only drink water from a mug that has a plant growing in it haha). Can't please them all but this one works for Little Kitty. ... show more
