    • Not 100% perfect, but totally impressed with the quality!
So in transit, it looks like one corner was dinged so I can't fault the manufacturer as it was very well packed and secured. Even with this, I am very very satisfied with the fit and finish. I was expecting some cheaper materials to be used (like the cardboard / wood looking scalloped backing) but it is far from that. It is very high quality, thick, heavy wood! Very easy to assemble (just put the hutch on the base and screw it together), finish is beautiful and I constantly get comments on this piece in my house as it is really large. Honestly, I am looking at other pieces made by NovaSolo to put into the house because I am that happy with it. If there is ANY downside to it, it is the smell. The paint has a very pungent chemical smell so with the doors closed all the time, every time you open them, you smell it. I think the same would go for any manufacturer, so it seems to be a necessary evil. Overall, I am completely satisfied with the purchase.     • Beautiful but flawed
I struggled with assigning a rating because the delivered product was a severe disappointment compared to the image...but because of it's beauty and unique nature I would order it again in a heartbeat. Some of the downsides are by design... The top and bottom (it ships in two pieces) don't line up in the way one might expect. If I had peered more intently at the photos I should have seen it but the 'top of the bottom' left over is weird. I understand how they got there - they wanted to ship the hutch in two assembled pieces and they wanted the bottom to be deeper than the top and they wanted the top piece to have a base and the bottom piece to have a crown - but it still looks weird compared to a 'normal' one piece hutch. And the drawers don't have real glides. I know they aren't specified in the description but because this hutch has so many drawers you really feel their absence. But many of the downsides are fabrication issues. The pieces aren't 'true' - they are trapezoidal instead of rectangular. So the piece of the bottom's top that shows on both ends is off kilter. The bottom two center doors are too long - you need to close them both simultaneously to get them shut. And the paint quality was far inferior to the NovaSolo Halifax Double Display Stand we also ordered. All that said...we love it. It's design fits perfectly in our kitchen - the top crown molding even matches that above our kitchen cabinets. And it holds lots and lots of stuff...which we need. So 4 stars it is. ... show more

    • Took forever
Give 3 star only because I love the cabinet. I ordered it in January. Got it in February with damage. Sent back the top part that had the damage and kept the bottom. Finally got the top part back at the end of March. Took forever. Then a couple days AFTER I bought the unit it went on sell. Sent a message about the sell but still paid full price. It’s beautiful but lots of problems with getting it. ... show more

    • Mahogany?????
I'm sorry, but there is no way this is true mahogany. Mahogany is an expensive tropical wood. In a number of countries its even illegal to harvest it anymore. It is heavy with a very tight grain with some light iridescent properties. Mahogany is NEVER painted. In a question and answer, the company says its a mix of solid mahogany and composite wood. What does that mean - some solid mahogany boards along with composite boards? Who would Do that? OR does it mean solid mahogany wood pieces or chips ground up along with other woods to make a complete composite piece? My guess is the second, if there is actually any true mahogany in it at all. ... show more

The unit finally showed up, kind of took a long time to get to us, but it certainly isn't going to knock any stars off, because the quality and workmanship is beautiful ! There are so many little compartments, drawers, etc my wife will have a field day hiding all her C rap... The piece is heavy and beautiful. There are Imperfections such as top seems warped as it does not sit flat on base. There are gaps on each end. All seams on top have gaps and paint has blemishes.
