Cleaned my hair really well. When using the conditioner, don’t leave on for a long time. I typically leave conditioner on while I wash and take care of other areas and then rinse off conditioner when I’m ready to get out of the shower. In doing that I find it helps my hair really absorb the conditioner benefits. With this particular conditioner, I did the same thing, and afterwards my hair felt like it had a load of product in it and was difficult to brush. Wasn’t smooth and tangled easily when dry. So far the smoothest set of hair care I've ever purchased. My hair is thick and long, first wash, feels light, gentle, and clean! Mahalo Update: So this was awesome, however as time went on and Denver's dry weather became more dry, the hair began to feel like old straw. I actually had to take off six inches. My son loves it, his hair is younger. It's not all bad I suppose.

I had bought this shampoo a year or so ago and remembered having pretry decent results for my long, thick curly hair. They must have changed something other than the packaging, because my hair is worse off than before I started (the first time I bought the set, it was in plastic bottles instead of metal ones). I am not going to lie, I am a minimalist and quite lazy when it comes to taking care of my hair and I bought this set because I was running low and liked my previous results. This time around, my hair became frizzy, dry, and my curls lost all definition. If I used the set several days in a row, my hair had a gross texture that was somehow chalky and gummy? I threw away the set after 10 days of damaging my hair that hopefully can be reversed.

I bought this before I dyed my hair and since my hair wasn’t damaged in any way, it didn’t work very well and made my hair feel a bit rough/coarse. Well now that my hair is now technically damaged, it works amazing!! It makes my hair feel super soft and gives it the moisturizing it needs. I personally can’t smell when I use these shampoo and conditioner, but my sister says it makes my hair smell very nice. I can’t recommend these enough if you have dyed hair. It works wonders :)
