The popcorn maker was so well packed that I can honestly say I’ve never received anything from any company that packed their product this carefully and scientifically! There are many parts and a complete set of tools, plus an assembly handbook. The instructions are extremely detailed and well-written, so a novice can put this high-quality popcorn maker together. It took 2-2.5 hours, but perhaps I could have done another one in 1/2 the time after understanding how it fits together. It is gorgeous and will be the highlight of my beautiful basement theater. I bought additional accessories like a metal popcorn scooper and big seasoning/salt shaker which will add to the whole popcorn making experience. I wanted to review this to give my experiences using this machine and to counter the voices suggesting this is hard to clean. Like others when I was first reviewing my options, one of the reoccurring comments that I kept reading, was fear of having to clean it after use. I can assure you it is easy and takes only 10-15 minutes to completely clean and sanitize. This machine arrived on time and was easy to put together. I read reviews on what popcorn, oil, supplies to buy and settled on the following: I use the Great Northern 4oz All-in-one packs (popcorn, flavonoid salt and coconut oil) even though this is an 8oz Popcorn Machine - that is plenty of popcorn for 2-4 people. I also use the Snappy Butter Burst Popcorn butter / oil to drizzle on afterwards - it makes it just like theater popcorn! My pro-tip: I use half of the flavonoid salt in the GN All-in-one pack and it is perfect! Follow the provided directions to make: The left button is a warming light and also warms the bottom. Turn on the right button to heat the kettle and start the turning arm, for only two minutes, then switch it off, while you add your oil and salt. When it has melted, add your popcorn. Then turn back on the right switch. It will take approximately 3 more minutes to pop. Once the popping has slowed down to the last kernels (about a few pops every few seconds) turn off right switch and dump the kettle’s remaining kernels. That’s it! The kettle gets very hot quickly, so extended use or leaving it on will burn the oil and or popcorn. The cleaning is straightforward. I thoroughly clean the machine after 4-6 uses. Following each use, I will clean out the leftover popcorn and kernels and wipe the bottom of the machine with a water wet paper towel. When I clean out the entire thing (I have used several methods - found good idea from a guy on YouTube that steam cleans it). But ultimately, it is easy to just remove the kettle take it to the sink and clean it like any other pot. Then I use a vinegar and water mix 1/3 Vinegar and wash out the inside sides, top and bottom using paper towels. It works well and is quick and easy. I use windex on the outside only. Good luck and don’t forget the Snappy Butter Burst - it makes the popcorn even better! Enjoy. ... show more

Ive been wanting a popcorn maker for awhile so I ended up choosing this one after some research. I also got it on sale which was awesome. It was pretty easy to set up & well the instructions weren’t so helpful but we figured it out. It was a bit small in height but that’s okay with me. It’s about the same height as my 6 year old.. it is fairly easy to clean and just letting the inside of the of the pot sit with warm water while I clean the inside of the of the popcorn machine (the pot is easily removable for easy cleaning). I also lay aluminum on the bottom of the popcorn machine to ensure that it’s an easier clean up. So far used it for 4 days straight and haven’t had any problems with it. Pops the perfect amount for myself I haven’t tried with multiple people. I also bought the popcorn salt & butter flavored coconut from Amazon. Combo 1: 1/2tsp of Popcorn Salt and 3tbsp of Butter Flavored Coconut Oil w/ 1 cup of kernels Combo 2: 1/2tsp of Popcorn Salt & 3tbsp of Orville Popping & Topping Buttery Popcorn Oil w/ 1 cup of kernels I preferred combo 2 it gave it the movie theater popcorn taste along with it being buttery. Combo 1 isn’t to bad but was struggling to find the buttery taste. Also the popcorn salt, a little goes a long way I believe the 1/2tsp is enough if you like it a bit more salty then maybe 1tsp. The media could not be loaded. So far so good, first batch was good will add more seasoning next time. Top was dented on arrival, and these instructions are not the best. However I put it together...with my cats. The storage space fits my big container of flavacol, coconut oil and popcorn with room to spare. Pros: Looks nice Works well Storage is phenomenal Cons: Instructions Not knocking the dent it may have happened in handling But come on guys that instruction booklet could be a little more informative maybe include more in depth recipe too TL;Dr Great product Awful instructions ... show more

took lil bit to figure out how to actually get started making the popcorn. the kettle that the kernels go in already has burn marks from kernels, but so far the flavor is ok. so far, so good
