There is plenty of room to dehydrate a lot of veggies. Quite easy cleaning. I would buy another for twice the processing. I am adding to this review. This was purchased then delivered on nov 23rd by Jan 28th it no longer functions. I had til the 31st to return it. I processed the return. I have 30 days to send it back. New one on the way. If the same thing happens I will be back to report. I was very pleased with this unit. I searched a long time to find the right one for my needs. I thought this was it. Easy use buttons in the front of the unit. Large capacity clear front glass door. Clean look. Fit in the location I had for it. I sure hope I don’t regret getting a refund. I am a gardener and have many uses for this unit. If it DIES again my review will not be to ever buy this unit. Time will tell. We control weather they make money. Let’s just keep that in mind. My next stop will be back to the company if it does last more than a few months. Update on second unit. It just died again. I received the replacement in late March. Used this 2nd unit a few times. I just had it running and it has died for the second time. I will be contacting the company. This is just ridiculous that these unit can last 6 months. ... show more

I can't believe how nice this is. I went through a lot of listings for other brands and was very worried about the amount of plastic in the so called "high end" models. I went with this model because it was all stainless steel (and had the best reviews). The Ivation dehydrator (I got the 10 tray model) looks and feels like it was twice the cost. Everything about it is so well made, I was very impressed when taking it out of the box and it looks so good I don't mind leaving it out all the time (which is good because it is big!). There are a few features that I would have considered paying more for, if they were available as options. Being able to accurately set the temperature instead of the "9 degree" increments would have been nice. I'm new to dehydrating and if the recipe says 135 degrees, I would feel better setting it to the exact temperature instead of deciding to go higher or lower. I wish you could turn the beeping sound down or off, as it is a little loud. I would also have liked to purchase more of the fruit leather trays, as it only came with one. I haven't seen that as an option, though. But those aren't deal breakers for me. I would much rather have a high quality product at a very reasonable price and trade off a few features that aren't very important to me anyways. One other important feature for me besides the materials used to construct it is the size. And this thing is huge! I plan on gardening this year and I really want to dehydrate a lot of the harvest. Right now I have about 6 pounds of apples drying (sliced at about 3/16 of an inch). This would have taken days to get through the oven or a small dehydrator. I don't have an oven thermometer so I can't check the accuracy of the temperature setting. I am curious and will try to remember to update when I get one and check it out. This dehydrator is super quiet. I believe it fits 10lbs of jerky in a single go since I filled 9.5 racks with 8.5 pounds, so 9.5 / 8.5 = 1.117 * 1.5 = 1.67 more pounds i could have fit. Light bleeds thru the plastic as those parts are thin (but strong, not cheapo plastic). There are a couple of manufacturer "dents" putting the unit together but hardly noticeable and no shipping issues. It arrived in a box in a box that was padded with styrofoam strips. Best deal on a dehydrator in my opinion. Only thing is I would like to cook my jerky at 163 degrees, but the unit allows only for like 158 then to 167 and nothing in between for temps. Still a "6 star" rating. ... show more

Really love this dehydrator. Amazing capacity, easy to clean with the provided drip tray, consistent and accurate temperature. Noise level of the fan is great, very quiet. Dries fruit very consistently, regardless of position in the trays. Already used for apple chips, raspberries, several fruit leathers. Looking forward to many other things! My only frustration with it is the very loud beeping noise when the timer completes. Unable to turn off, shorten or quiet it down. Not good for batches that may finish in the middle of the night. Have learned to schedule batches that won't alert at a bad time, so can work with it. ... show more

Edit 11/20/23 So far for the past few years this dehydrator has kept up with our demands, we do a lot of kale chips, fruit leathers, fruit slices, jerky. Also do a lot of odd and end stuff like spices and so forth. I ended up marking the trays so I know which direction to put them in. I will definitely buy this exact product again if it were to break any time soon (Original review) The Ivation 10 tray dehydrator has been a delight to use. Holds tons of food, which makes the prep work well worth it. I have not had to move or rotate trays. So far I have done fruits, veggies, and jerky, All of which turned out amazing. This machine has ran just about every day since it showed up. We will be using it for a bit as we have a bunch of blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries on our property, Not including everything else. I'll try to update this fall on the endurance of the dehydrator, but as it stands we love this machine and am so happy we spend a few extra bucks My biggest issue with this machine is the trays are not square. Go ahead laugh,right. The trays are so close that I can't tell what direction that they easy fit into the machine, it's not a problem but it does get a annoying at times when loading the machine ... show more

This machine is excellent. Works great and having so much fun with it!! My only gripe is that it only goes so high or low with the temp so certain recipes I can’t do. But it works for most things and I’m happy with everything I’ve made. Venison jerky was da bomb.

    • Danger of fire! thermostate get stuck! will never buy! company refuse to support, even for pay

it was working well the first year or so, but then one day start to overheat. I meassure temperature and it was ~300 degrees!! I turned it off immediatly, but after a few min I saw a glowing red light coming from it - the heating element was glowing red!!!! lucky I was there to pull it off the plug! The only good thing is that this thing has a temperature fuse, that blows when high temp is reached (though a 10 min delayed..), so it supposed to prevent fire. but a few min will burn your products, and potentially create fire if something combustible is around. the first time the fuse blown, I was not there to observe, so I replaced it. but then it happen again. so this is a bad thermostat and'/or electronic board. The company's response is that this is out of warranty, and refuses to sell me any replacement parts. So, if you buy from this company, assume it will break, and be added to landfill within a year or two, OR will burn your house. ... show more

We've used this only a couple of times thus far. Ours has no rattles, only less-than-moderate fan noise, but enough that I'm glad we can keep it in the garage. Trays fit snuggly and clean easily. Love the basic time and temp control system. We've only done our orchard's apples so far, and they leave virtually no residuals. April 2020 update: this continues to be a very nice unit that we're quite pleased with. Recently used some grass-fed beef (which does not make great burgers btw, perhaps because it's too lean) and a "Judge" jerky gun to make some jerky, which we've never done before.
