I can't believe how nice this is. I went through a lot of listings for other brands and was very worried about the amount of plastic in the so called "high end" models. I went with this model because it was all stainless steel (and had the best reviews). The Ivation dehydrator (I got the 10 tray model) looks and feels like it was twice the cost. Everything about it is so well made, I was very impressed when taking it out of the box and it looks so good I don't mind leaving it out all the time (which is good because it is big!). There are a few features that I would have considered paying more for, if they were available as options. Being able to accurately set the temperature instead of the "9 degree" increments would have been nice. I'm new to dehydrating and if the recipe says 135 degrees, I would feel better setting it to the exact temperature instead of deciding to go higher or lower. I wish you could turn the beeping sound down or off, as it is a little loud. I would also have liked to purchase more of the fruit leather trays, as it only came with one. I haven't seen that as an option, though. But those aren't deal breakers for me. I would much rather have a high quality product at a very reasonable price and trade off a few features that aren't very important to me anyways. One other important feature for me besides the materials used to construct it is the size. And this thing is huge! I plan on gardening this year and I really want to dehydrate a lot of the harvest. Right now I have about 6 pounds of apples drying (sliced at about 3/16 of an inch). This would have taken days to get through the oven or a small dehydrator. I don't have an oven thermometer so I can't check the accuracy of the temperature setting. I am curious and will try to remember to update when I get one and check it out. There is plenty of room to dehydrate a lot of veggies. Quite easy cleaning. I would buy another for twice the processing. I am adding to this review. This was purchased then delivered on nov 23rd by Jan 28th it no longer functions. I had til the 31st to return it. I processed the return. I have 30 days to send it back. New one on the way. If the same thing happens I will be back to report. I was very pleased with this unit. I searched a long time to find the right one for my needs. I thought this was it. Easy use buttons in the front of the unit. Large capacity clear front glass door. Clean look. Fit in the location I had for it. I sure hope I don’t regret getting a refund. I am a gardener and have many uses for this unit. If it DIES again my review will not be to ever buy this unit. Time will tell. We control weather they make money. Let’s just keep that in mind. My next stop will be back to the company if it does last more than a few months. Update on second unit. It just died again. I received the replacement in late March. Used this 2nd unit a few times. I just had it running and it has died for the second time. I will be contacting the company. This is just ridiculous that these unit can last 6 months. ... show more

Love this dehydrator. I had such a hard time deciding between it and the Excalibur. This won out because of the stainless steel and price point. I have used it almost daily and it does not disappoint. The only down side that I have found is that while the racks are supposed to be square, they are in fact off just enough that they only go into the oven in one direction. I solved the guessing with the red and orange oven rack shields you see in the picture. They work great and I highly recommend you getting them to go with this. ... show more

Great! Buy it. Highly recommend this product. So pleased with the ease of use and repeatable results with this dehydrator. Instructions and touch screen are easy to understand and use (I am a technology spaz and have difficulty with most digital screens... NOT this one). Efficient and NOT loud! Also, looks beautiful and blends in nicely with other appliances. We have purchases less expensive, inferior, loud products which produced less desirable food and in a much longer time frame. THIS, is the one to buy. We got all of the apples and pears processed this year, very quickly and easily. Actually looking forward to my next project! TY ... show more

Okay, had to give the unit a 4 star for breaking down on me... But I wish I could give the seller kudos (high marks) for taking good care of me when I contacted them about the issue. They were impressive. As far as the unit goes, it is very large and spacious as well as having the racks nicely spaced. The only issue I have is that the racks can be a bit tough to clean if you aren't putting in a very clean product to start with (I dried durian in it and it was a mess - and tasted not so good ...lol...). For drying apples, pears, mango, etc, I had no problem. Peach was okay as long as it was firm. The reason is that the racks have ridges to them is because of the way the racks' strands (the wire mesh) are interlaced. It is a minor inconvenience but still adds time to cleanup. I have used several different dehydrators over the years, with many different configurations, and I have to say that this gave me a consistent product whether on the top rack or on the bottom and did not matter the load (full or partial). For the price, it makes it capable of competing with more costly units such as Excalibur. It is a high recommend in my opinion. ... show more

No plastic, not fan blades or shroud, ALL S.S. metal insides. Works great for lettuce, bananas, (search my name for slicer review) apples, Aronia berry,, others. Easy clean, buy the perforated Silicone mats.
