I bought these boots because I wanted to give a different shoe brand a try. I usually wear Merrell and Solomon footwear for hiking or outdoor type activities. I wear 10.5, but find myself having to order size 11 in order to accommodate a high and thick instep. As a result, most of my footwear is about .5" too long. I tried the boots as soon as I received them. I liked the look and they seem well constructed. But the ankle support is just not there. The material does not have enough give in the upper area of the boot to form a snug fit around the ankle. Also, even though I ordered a half size bigger, the boot was a bit tight around the instep. If you have a bigger than normal instep, these boots may not be for you. Unless you want to keep them and test how much of the material is going to stretch. They were somewhat comfortable enough at first try. But I doubt that they would be an all-day shoe. Specially for the activity that they are designed. Also, the shoe lace system is similar to that of Solomon's, but it is not as efficient. As for the water resistant/proof portion, the seams seem well sealed and I think they would perform well in that regard. ... show more

It's light weight, light but sturdy materials made boot. Fit is true, in toes feels very comfy,not snug and not loosen too, just as it should be. In mid part of feet they feel secure so you don't lose shoe when you are walking and in upper part of feet you can adjust your tight with shoelace. Grip rubber of sole is very sturdy, mid part very soft and insole is solf too. Materials, nylon is not overly thick which is good for breathing, but still good for protection and water. No leather on shoe, so no added weight too. I changed shoelace for regular, give more flexibility. They feel good walking and hiking. Now at winter they are warm, and at summer time I think they it will not be hot in them. They look like Salomon x ultra shoe, and if this Nordic is made on same princip then it's a great shoe for this low coat. Overall it's absolutely amazing hiking boot with some style. ... show more
