  • Very good for what they are
Size: 13 Color: Black Full Grain
These boots are comfortable. They fit nicely and feel good under foot. The insoles aren't the best but can be switched out easily if needed. Another plus is that they look pretty nice. I currently have the black ones. I used to have wheat ones but I sadly left them in a hotel room on a business trip. I liked the wheat better, but bought black replacements because I didn't have any black boots and wanted a little variety. They do a nice job keeping my feet warm when it's cold. That isn't to say that they aren't good to wear in warm weather too, but they are especially nice in the cold. They are very nice to walk in, wearing more like a sneaker than other boots I own and wear regularly (Thorogood, Irish Setter, Rockrooster, etc). I find that when I'm going for a casual walk or a short hike, these are the shoes I most often reach for. The outsole is sturdy enough with a good lug pattern that digs in nicely to whatever terrain you find yourself trudging through. There are a couple of things I don't like. First, the outsole is cemented on rather than welted so once the sole is worn out they are pretty much trash. However they do seem to be cemented well as the sole really holds on well. Still, cemented construction isn't my favorite but that's not the end of the world at this price point. The leather quality seems okay, but definitely not anything amazing. Still, there is a good amount of leather on these boots and for the money it's better than most. All in all, I am rating these as 5 star boots. To qualify, I am not comparing them to my Thorogood boots or Irish Setter boots. They are in a different category altogether for me. I'm putting them up against tennis shoes and mid range hiking boots. They are very good in that space. They are similar and on par with some Keens and Ariats I have worn in the past, but are a little less expensive. I'd say they are easily worth the $80 to $100 most people will pay but I wouldn't pay much more than that. They have the feel of a $100 to $120 boot so for less than $100 they are a pretty good value. I would certainly buy these again but next time I'm going back to the wheat color because I did prefer those. The Nubuck leather they are made with seems to be a little higher quality too. ... show more

  • Good luck finding a more comfortable and durrable pair at this price!
Size: 10 Color: Medium Brown Full Grain
Ok, I'll admit it: I'm a bit of a shoe / boot hog. I have about as many pairs as my girlfriend, mother and sister combined (but no high heels!). I like to switch it up day to day or my feet will be way too uncomfortable. Or at least I did. I've had these boots for just shy of a year, and I've worn these boots just shy of 365 days. I think my other shoes are jealous. These fit perfectly, and they are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn (and again, that's a lot of boots!). I normally wear a size 9.5 boot, but I ordered these in a size 10 in hopes I would have room to add a Dr. Scholls insert without making them fit too small, and it was just right. I did wear the boots for a day without the inserts, and they were perfectly comfortable. With the inserts added however, the comfort is exceptional - I recommend the inserts meant for work boots. I'm a college kid on a huge New York campus, so I do a lot of walking on a LOT of hills, on grass, pavement, gravel, snow, ice, wood chips, sand, etc. and these shoes are wonderful on all terrains. My feet don't get cold in the winter either, which is a big plus. At the same time they're not too hot in the summer. I've worn them upstate on a couple day hikes, climbed more than a few massive boulders, taken them to all sorts of state parks and gotten them plenty muddy, walked across shallow streams (nothing deeper than the boot, though), and even explored a small part of the Everglades. I find myself aiming for puddles instead of avoiding them whenever it rains now and I love that my feet stay completely dry! Really, I can't say anything bad about these boots. Admittedly, I was a little apprehensive about the durability of the sole when I first looked at them online. I have a pair of Timberland slip-on shoes with the same sole and I wasn't so sure they would hold up to abuse because the material is relatively soft. The past year has shown me that my worries are far from reality, though, as the boots have taken beating after beating on every terrain New York has to offer, as well as some of Florida! My feet have never been cold, hot, wet, or uncomfortable in any way while wearing these amazing boots. I do treat them with mink oil every few months just as a precaution, but I'm confident that there wouldn't be a negative affect if I skipped a coating or two. I do like that the oil makes them look brand new again though. I apply the oil with my fingers as to not waste any on a rag, and the first time I applied it, my fingers were brown for a day or two from the dies in the leather. The second coating had much less, and the third had almost nothing. Overall these boots are a fantastic partner on or off the trail, or in a classroom. I have boots that are twice and thrice the price of these and they are just as durable and far more comfortable. They're a great deal, but don't get them right away- I notice that the price fluctuates a pretty decent amount. When I added them to my wishlist, they were 85 dollars (size 10) and I bought them when the price went down to 64 dollars. Now I see that the price is back up! These boots are a great deal and now that I know how great they are, I wouldn't hesitate to pay $85 for them, they're worth more than that. But a college kid has to be smart about spending the little money he has - if I spend too much I'll have to sacrifice a limb or two for tuition! So if the price is up, don't worry: these boots are more than worth it. If you're patient and keep an eye on the price though, you may get an even better deal! Either way, you get a great pair of boots for a great price! Happy trails! ... show more

  • Excellent quality
Size: 9.5 Color: Medium Brown Full Grain
My son has the same boot with a composite toe. After almost 2 years of wearing them daily in an outdoor job, they are in perfect condition. The only thing they needed was a new insert for the sole as it deteriorated after a year. I bought him the soft toe version for home and casual use. These were offered at an incredible price and are just as comfortable and sturdy. Perfect fit and extremely well made. ... show more

  • Good boots
Size: 11 Color: Medium Brown Full Grain
I bought these boots back in June 2023. They are very good for the money. The only problem is if you do a lot of bending like I do, the front toe area will separate from the leather. Whatever they do to vulcanize the rubber to the leather, doesn’t seem to last very long .So if you’re sure you’re going to keep the boots are use the marine grade superglue and superglue the front toe. I have had no problems with the boot since. I have used the boots in water and bending down quite a lot and they hold up now. I’ve tried the number of other boots and the same to have the same problem. The vulcanizing of the rubber to the leather just doesn’t last very long. The boots are very comfortable and they offer really good art support.. ... show more

  • Love it
Size: 12 Wide Color: Wheat Nubuck
The comfort and fit are amazing. The shoe has great structure and support. The boot is light and does not feel too warm or cold. Breathable interior. The soles have amazing traction. Walks like a sneaker but has the rigid support of a boot. The quality seems great. If they hold up like my Earthkeepers, I will be wearing these for years. I also love the styling. I wear a size 12W and the shoe has good proportions. Sometimes larger sizes look weird in the proportions. ... show more
