Stays sharp from my testing, looks cool like the axe from the game "the forest" Like I said its long so not the best in terms of portability, but the lightest axe i held, so it isn't too bad. It has a plastic thing to protect the blade in transport, seems to be made to last, don't see it going anytime soon. I had my doubts but this thing is rad. Sharp and the ergonomics are great. Its wildly light but the speed makes up for it. Not gonna lie I have struck the handle more times than I want to admit and its strong. Vibrational transmission is low. I would choose this if there were a zombie apocalypse. Very nice sharp axe. The bit is slim and very sharp and the handle is composite and is hollow. The axe length and weight feel perfect and the handle has a hard grip near the end that’s also curved so your hands don’t slip off. I cut some cherry logs in the field near my house and even though the wood was really dry this axe cut right through them. It held is razor sharp edge all day which was quite surprising. The only reason I gave this four stars instead of five is because I own the Fiskars X24 which is shorter but the handle grip is way more comfortable and seems better made. Over all this is an excellent tool and is a great buy. Made in Finland with a lifetime warranty too. Whats not to love? ... show more

Fantastic chopping axe! Very sharp, making felling of trees simple and quick. The handle keeps the felt impact to a minimum which totally helps lower fatigue. The ergonomics of the handle helps maintain a good grip as well. This my first Fiskars axe, definitely won't be my last.

I've never felt so manly as after cutting up some deadfall with a wire saw and splitting logs with this fine axe. It was so easy, it felt like I'd been chopping wood for decades. Looks great on the side of my truck with my orange All-top over landing shovel!
