While the winter season means less hiking than usual, I hope to properly put these boots through the paces in the spring. So far I can say that they feel like great quality boots typical of any $150-$250 boot. The grip looks terrific for those loose stone trails. I'll be testing limited water resistance and general endurance over the next several months and I'll report back, but if I tried these in a store I'd buy them without hesitation.

- Lightweight construction - Deep rubber treads for grip - Stylish look Replacing my old boots that had served me well for seven years was a task. Those boots were lightweight (1 pound 3 ounces each), perfect for all-day wear. The NORTIV 8 Men's Hiking Boots come close in weight, tipping the scales at 1 pound 6 ounces. As for the material, I've applied mink oil to the top and some side portions of the boots, which appear to be made of leather. However, other parts seem to be made of plastic, meaning these boots don't have as much leather as my previous pair. Regarding sizing, I ordered a half-size larger in anticipation of wearing wool socks for the upcoming winter. The fit is good and doesn't feel loose. I also appreciate the stylish design and how the black color pairs well with jeans. However, as with any new footwear, the boots are initially stiff. A specific issue I've noticed is two exposed rivets inside at the top, which may be why the boots seem to 'dig in' at the top of the ankle. I'm hoping this will ease as the boots break in over time. For now, I'm only using the laces to tie the boots and not using the final two hooks at the top, which seems to alleviate most of the discomfort. At this point, I'm hoping that as the boots break in, they'll feel more like a second skin. After a few months, I’ll update this review to explain how they're holding up and whether the initial stiffness has eased. These boots are a promising mix of style, lightweight construction, and functionality. If you're considering these boots, be prepared for the initial break-in period and adjust the lacing to your comfort.

This is a well made boot with everything I look for when shopping for boots that are used for work and pleasure. The boots are very durable, made of high quality materials. The leather on the outer sole is soft and strong. The soles are rugged but flexible, and have a strong grip in the garage or on a mountain. The inner lining is comfortable, warm and waterproof. The ankle hits at just the right spot, the toe and heel are reinforced but remain comfortable. Great boots!

I wanted to love these, but the quality is bad. Theres a “clicking” noise in one boot every time i walk. The soles are a hard plastic which makes the boots entirely uncomfortable and slippery, rubber would have been a much better choice. I would not recommend these even at a low price. Buy a notable brand for more money and its worth it.

These boots look great and are well made based on what I see from the stitching and other details. They were easy to slide into and I like that the top has two hooks for the shoe laces making it easy to take on and off while getting it tight when putting on. I had expensive boots which didn't have them and routing the laces into and out of the holes was a pain. These are comfortable for the most part. I did several half hour walks and my shins were burning to the point I felt some fatigue. I'm not sure if I need to break them in more or if it's because there is no soft gel inside. For casual non intense walks, they work. But I'm not sure if I'll be able to tolerate lengthy hikes in these just yet. As a side note, I think there was a missed branding opportunity to call one of the models "MOTIV 8" Update: after trying them out in snow, these are super slippery so beware. The traction is not good and I'd be very cautious when wearing these where some ice might be present.

I ordered these boots for use on my camping trips. It is very durable and easy to tie the strings because of the hooks it has. Material is very good with good insole softness. It did fit well with no issues. I have used it a couple times and feel comfortable in it.

My husband needing new hiking boots for that and hunting as his has holes and very worn I saw these and excitedly snagged them At first they looked great, super nice tread,but after several times wearing them to break them in my husband gave up. He said they were ridiculously stiff, caused blisters, and they were those most uncomfortable boot he's ever worn. He even went back to wearing the ones with holes and getting his feet wet over wearing these . . .

These are one of my favorite Amazon items I've gotten recently. I work outside all day, so I wear these about 10-12 hours a day. I've had them 3 weeks now, and they are still very comfortable and my feet don't hurt at the end of the day. The soles are nice and stiff, they quality is very good. The brown color looks great with khakis and I've had several other people ask where I got them. Great work boot - highly recommend!!
