  • Perfect Fit With Great Durable Feel
Size: 8.5 Color: Cordovan/Squash
These shoes feel fantastic! They are very true to size, and they fit me just perfectly. The craftsmanship and design look wonderful, and I haven't seen or experienced any issues with them so far. I ordered these as hiking boots, and possibly as winter boots, but they look so nice, I kind feel bad about possibly scuffing them up! The support around the ankle area seems adequate to me, but I immediately removed the insoles from these shoes. They're just thin pads, and although they were comfortable, they didn't provide the arch support I wanted. I had some high arch insoles that slid right in, and now I'm ready to go. I tend to overpronate, especially with my left foot, due to a prior injury, but with the insoles in these, and the added support around the ankle, these should be just great for me! Awesome quality, stylish appearance, and a great value, in my opinion! ... show more

  • Fits great, feels durable. *18 month update!*
Size: 12 Wide Color: Black/Black
These boots feel great. First pair of leather boots, so I didn't know what to expect. So far, they're water proof (except on the tongue). The rubber on the bottom of the boots feels softer, but it also feels like the rubber "teeth" sort of flex to fit rocks and stones better when I'm walking on uneven terrain. So far so good. *update* half a year in and still great. Im using these for hiking, airsoft, and work. Favorite boots by far and still very comfortable. *2nd update!* The second picture (on the carpet) is after 18 months of use. The tread is still great. I've been wearing these daily since my previous update - for an entire year now. I still love these boots. They're still very comfortable and my feet have remained dry this long. I'm truly impressed and recommend them any chance I get. I wear 12 wide and can't imagine buying a different boot when it's time to update. I should note that I used mink oil on the leather when I got these. A friend at work suggested leaving it on for 24 hours and gently wiping it off. I haven't treated the leather or taken care of these boots in any other way since that day. I know there are bad reviews out there, but if you're selling a ton of anything, there will be lemons. I abuse the crud out of these boots. I've been building a house, hauling gravel, cutting trees, working, and still doing trails and my other hobbies... these are worth every penny. ... show more

  • Very comfortable, great for casual hikers
This boot is an excellent choice for budget conscious, casual hikers. As a large person with large wide feet I was skeptical about the low price and quality, but these were comfortable from day one. I think that is the boots best feature. All of my life I've had to break in hiking boots to some capacity, but not these. They also are quite stable, they feel more like a hybrid of a tennis sneaker and high end hiking boot, but I find I have great stability and control in them. One critique is the claim that they are waterproof is simply incorrect. The mesh tongue makes that untrue. I've walked through taller grass in the rain and they soak up water right to the socks. The other parts of the boot are at least water resistant but I do not recommend heavy rain hiking with these, especially if you're walking through brush. I also do worry about the longevity of these, the lace hooks in particular feel low quality, so if you want tie the boot very tight this could be a concern. With that said I think for a very low price you get a very comfortable casual hiking boot which is great for paved, gravel, and well travelled trails. Also great for big footed folks. I do not recommend these for heavy rain days, and you might be pushing the limits a bit with heavier brush areas. If used once a week these will go a long way, I think as a daily driver you might want to look at a higher end boot, especially if these are for work. ... show more

  • Good lighweight boots. Size runs large and wide.
Size: 12 Color: Graphite/Black
The top of the box was missing, but otherwise the boots are fine. This is my third pair. My first pair I hike over 1,000 miles in, the second pair had a problem with the faux leather peeling and leaking but I still wore them. For the price they are good lighweight 3 season boots. I just hiked 40 miles in this pair and they are very waterproof. I like that the fit is on the large side. ... show more

  • Good, for what they're meant for...
Size: 9 Wide Color: Graphite/Black
So let's get this out of the way these are hiking boots... These are not work boots... I'm about 97% sure that they are real leather... So they can make your feet smell... They are extremely comfortable. They have great traction. But ultimately once again they are not work boots. This means that the sole is simply too soft and too thin to last very long on raw concrete or asphalt... Once again it's not what they were meant for. I used mine in a mixture of tile floor and sidewalk concrete. Not surprisingly. They did not last very long before the heel wore out... Not the boots fault not Columbia's fault. They are just not work boots... Love, the gray, beautiful looking boot actually. ... show more
