I absolutely love this fireplace. I have it mounted under my 43” television. Because the vent is on the top of the fireplace and would otherwise ‘heat up’ the bottom of the television, I use a galvanizied elbow HVAC vent to redirect the heat air flow... works perfectly. I plan to spray paint it black with high heat paint as soon as weather permitting. I use the fireplace with and without the heat!! It creates a very very sexy athmosphere!! ... show more

It won't fool you into believing it is a real fire - yet, I use it almost every evening because it does make the living room seem more cozy. Just the flickering and motion of the lights (when you are not looking at it directly) somehow makes me feel like I do have a fire going. And I rarely even use the heater on it! There is a trick to putting it together - put the rocks in when you stand it up for the final time, not earlier as the instructions say. The rocks are a bit dusty (mine are pumice so they sort of crumble when rubbed together) and the dust gets on the inside of the glass - and then you can't clean it out! So wash or vacuum the dust out of your rocks before putting them inside and don't let them scratch the glass - cuz they will if they or the dust rubs on it... ... show more

The stand and the screws do not support the unit, when I turn it upright the crews fall out and twice it has almost fallen to the floor I have wasted an entire evening trying to put this piece of poorly designed crap together. It deserves no rating. Now I have to put this heavy thing back in the box to return it. Amazon you are slipping. I rather shop in store to see what I am buying. You suck and this product sucks ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I like the appearance of the unit itself. The fire effect is OK. It's not realistic by any means, but the warm feeling it imparts is good enough to justify. Proportions of height and width are good, with a modern look, and not too narrow in the firebox. Some other units just look odd with a short height firebox. This looks right. That's important on and off. If you are able to wall mount that's not an issue . The Remote works well. I am using it with the included stand. They really should upgrade that piece. It has the appearance of Dollar Store lawn furniture, but good news. it's small, low, and not where people will be looking. Overall, I am happy with this purchase. It loses a star due to the fire image not looking real enough. ... show more
