My son and I made this together. Neither of us is an expert cook by any stretch, but we had fun. We used Pam Perfect Release (cooking spray that contains flour). I was surprised how easily it came out of the pan, and impressed with how detailed the cake was. The chimney cracked a little, and the small trees on the sides broke off, but we “fixed” them with frosting. The gingerbread cake recipe it came with has a great flavor and texture, too. Cleaning the pan afterwords wasn’t bad. I think this will be a continuing holiday tradition in our family. ... show more

I usually make gingerbread houses but as I have gotten older it is getting harder. I love the smell of warm gingerbread and the look of the gingerbread house. Well, this mold fills both orders as you make a Gingerbread Cake it fills your home with the smell and the end result is stunning (dust with powder sugar when cold). It comes with a recipe but I used an easy online Gingerbread Cake. It came out of the mold with no effort and the ooo's and ahh's were worth it...and it tasted amazing. The media could not be loaded. I hardly ever write reviews but I love these pans. I have several from Nordic, and when I bake in them I pretend I’m this great baker that knows what she’s doing. Is it a gingerbread house?;) Who knows, but I sure LOVE my cute village. Great product.
