I have a 1991 Trane XE70 Natural Gas furnace,no interconnected AC. I have installed two thermostats thus far. The second worked well for 25 years, it had programmable settings which were never used. We prefer to turn it and off Manually. We wanted a simple to use and install thermostat to replace the failed one. This one met that criteria. I ordered it Sunday night and it arrived Monday at 11am. I loved the price and the blue hue on my wall instead of some of the ugly brown or green hues that you see in the stores. I was able to install it myself in about 10 minutes after figuring out the wiring. I have to say that I am actually surprised at how easy it was to get set up and I definitely recommend it. I turned the switch to on, turned up the temp and whoosh, the wall heater came on like magic. I do not have air, just a wall heater connected to it and it works perfectly. ... show more

My Mom is on the older side. First, I installed a programable thermostat at her house when those first came out. She couldn't understand it. So when wifi thermostats came out I installed one of those. She couldn't understand that one either. So I installed this one. This one she gets. The batteries are easy to get to. It was easy for me to install. The numbers are big and easy to see. It lights up. The base has holes in the normal spots. I didn't even have to put new holes on the wall. She loves it. I love it that I don't have go set it at the beginning of each season. This thing is a little bit bigger which is great as it helps cover up any holes from all the other thermostats. The ancient thermostat in my mother's house wouldn't respond to button presses after about 20 years. She's a very no-nonsense, no-frills, easy-to-use kind of person so I opted for the simplest, cheapest thermostat I could find. This one seemed to fit the bill with no programming. Just settings for Heat/Cool/Off and buttons for setting temperature. That's all she wants and needs. I've installed a few thermostats before so I knew what I was getting into and this one was just as easy as any others. The included screws and drywall anchors are almost literal garbage though. Use your own quality drywall anchors. The instructions are very sparse on details but there isn't much there that you really NEED to know anyway. Hook the wires up to the right pins and you're good-to-go. There is a switch on the back that could be easy to miss to switch between gas and electric heat, so make sure you get that in the right position. The buttons are nice and clicky which I always like. Mushy buttons are awful. If you need a cheap, non-programmable thermostat this one will probably do the trick. ... show more

We had a Google Nest installed by property manager! I couldn’t turn off all the Auto sense, learning schedule and leaf mode! It was too much! $27 bucks later and this simple and clear thermostat saved us from all these complications! The temperature sensor seems to be accurate and it is very easy to set up! At least it doesn’t turn on in the middle of night to chill you out! I love the large and clear display the room temp is on the left and adjusting temp is on the right where the buttons are!
