It has all the functions for some non programmable thermostat without causing selfinflickting confusions from programmable thermostat. More complicating functions may take many tolls rather than the benefits.

    • Bought for an elder with weak vision
I bought this as a replacement for a Nest thermostat that was installed by a HVAC company at my grandmother's house. While the Nest was clear to see, it was challenging for her to navigate and switch the operations. This solved it, with physical buttons for up and down and sliders for the different modes. The large number is the current temperature and the smaller is the set point. The blue backlight comes on when you press a button and turns off after 5 seconds. It saves the different set points between modes which is helpful when changing seasons. It was incredibly simple to install myself. The only thing I had to change was the display cycle, which can show temperature and humidity. To make it easy for her, I set it to temperature only (this is found in the manual that comes with it). ... show more

I'm very proud to say I installed this myself because the programmable one a friend put it was awful. I watched him install first one, think it was too smart for my old furnace, so ordered this. Instructions very clear, easy to install and simple yet exactly what I needed to run furnace. Touch control raises, lowers temp. Large reading, and bright.     • Has some pluses But one big Negative and had to replace it.
For the pros, nice display and easy to operate and you can calibrate the temp. and swing settings. The one big Con, I adjusted the swing setting to the minimum which is 2 tenths below and 2 tenths above the temperature chosen. But it wont shut the ac off until its almost 1 degree lower than set and wont turn on until almost 1 degree above setting.---This makes for long run times and long time before it comes back on which causes too much temperature fluctuation. It does the same for both heat and AC I have replaced this unit with a Honeywell non programmable digital thermostat and it is way more accurate and shuts off and turns on when it should. I originally rated this a 2 but after having the Honeywell that is way more accurate and functions better I’m giving this one a 1. Having a big bright display and humidity gage does not make up for its inaccuracies. Too bad Amazon doesn’t show the more negative reviews up front. ... show more
