I've never owned an electric scooter before. We were looking at some for our 9 year old daughter when I thought it might be fun to have my wife and I join her and make it a family thing. I bought my daughter a different brand and when looking for ours I was nervous tbh. I already soooo many reviews on a bunch of different scooters. I found myself on Reddit asking for advice when I noticed a trend ... Most everyone was saying this was the best scooter for the cost. I was hesitant to pull the trigger but decided while on sale let's give it a shot. I ordered two one for myself and one for my wife. They say in my closet for about a month and the entire time I kept coming back reading reviews wondering if I would have charging issues or battery issues etc. On Xmas eve we popped them open and to my relief they charged just fine (quicker then I thought they would) the app wasn't hard to use and when it was time to go out and use them....oh man what a blast. These were definitely worth the purchase. They are durable, the suspension was great, it picked up speed quick and maintained it well. Our neighbor also has a few inclines that I was a bit concerned about, but was able to hit almost top speed up the hill. For reference I'm 5'9 170 ibs and my wife is 5'3 120. ... show more

I ordered 2 scooters for me and my granddaughter from different company for Christmas. We took them out the first day and one of them broke when she hit a bump and both of them would only give about 5 miles of range even though they advertised as 19 miles. I sent them back. That next day I ordered 2 of the NIU scooters. Just got them today. All I can say is the the quality of the scooters, range, performance and App are a huge upgrade. What a difference!! So much smoother, quieter and high performance. I love the Regenerative Braking and that the App can manage both scooters. Also, there is tracking included. This came in a box 2x the size of what it should have been, along with very little foam padding. As a result, it arrived completely broken. The light was falling off and disconnected along with it's frame being broken. Additionally the break handle was also broken, making the scooter completely unusable. The foldability should have led to a much smaller box with more padding. This simple step would have ensured a safe delivery for this fairly pricey product. I'm pretty disappointed in this seller. The scooter may well be excellent. The tires looked robust. I wish I could have used it. This is unacceptable. ... show more

For the price, this thing can't be beat. I can easily get about 12 miles at top speed (17 mph) before needing to recharge. It could probably go farther at a lower speed. It's a little heavy, but it's nice that it folds for easy carrying and storage. It climbs hills and the suspension is smooth on roads. The built-in headlight is plenty bright, as is the taillight. Brakes work well, but I rarely need to use them because the regenerative braking (when you release the throttle) typically slows me well enough. I initially purchased Niu KQi 100F directly from their website (the black model) - it arrived with the bell broken off in the box and the styrofoam padding shattered. Upon plugging it in to charge, the battery was DOA and did not function. The customer service experience dealing with NIU directly was horrible. They refused to send me a replacement scooter until the first one was returned (initially they would not refund me despite me having purchased additional "worry-free" purchase protection). I returned the first scooter to NIU and purchased the same scooter through Amazon the second time (the grey model) and it arrived intact and functioning. Overall, I do enjoy the scooter, it feels sturdy and well-made, but the advertised range is nowhere near close in my experience. I live in a flat part of Orange County, right near Disneyland - and after about 10 days of testing, I've found that the scooter can just barely hit about 8 miles of real world range, which is less than 50% of the advertised range of "up to 18 miles". The Niu app is also super glitchy and doesn't actually record your rides. Overall, while I do feel that the scooter is decent and well made, I've had 2 scooters with issues from the same manufacturer in under 90 days, so I'm wondering if there are larger issues at play? While the scooter has a fantastic combination of features, the IP65 water resistance, the foldable handlebars, the turn signals, the front suspension - but the range... the range really hurts. I suppose this device truly is ideal for a "last mile" solution? I was really hoping for 10 miles, but I can just barely get 8. ... show more

Well, worth the price! Bought 2 for Christmas and buying a 3rd one for my third son's birthday. They're very fast, battery lasts forever, and all around well made. They actually are much better made than they even look like in the pictures. We get so many compliments on them. Worth every dime!
