  • Fantastic Scooter for Daily College Commutes. Durable, Powerful, and Smooth
Style: Front Suspension/Grey - 600W/17.4MPH/18Mi
I’ve been using this scooter every day for the past 6 months to get back and forth to my college classes, and it has been absolutely perfect. As a heavier rider, I’m impressed by how easily it handles hills without slowing down, and the battery life consistently meets my needs. The suspension system combined with the large, inflated tires and solid build quality makes every ride incredibly smooth and stable even on rough surfaces. Compared to pricier scooters I’ve checked out, this one offers exceptional value for the money. The display and controls are straightforward but effective, with bright visibility and easy to use buttons, even while riding. The front light is impressively bright, almost like a car headlight, which really adds to safety on night rides. Overall, the scooter design is sturdy, reliable, and comfortable. I highly recommend it for anyone needing a dependable daily commuter. ... show more

  • A great value!
The KQi3 Max isn't perfect, but under $800, it can't be beat and does the basics well. The acceleration is good and it can take medium hills, unlike my entry-level M365. It's hard to modulate the throttle to gently accelerate or stay at slow speeds, but the regen is nicely tuned. The brakes are grabby, but once you get used to them, you can smoothly modulate them and stop very quickly. Shock absorption isn't great because there's no suspension, but that's hard to find at $750 and below. The weight is much higher than entry-level scooters, so it's harder to carry up stairs or sling over your shoulder. Battery life is excellent, with performance dropping a reasonable amount below 50% and the scooter still usable and capable of going above 15mph. Bonus features: I like the ability to "lock" the scooter so it can't be easily rolled away by a thief, which is nice for quick stops when a U-lock is inconvenient or difficult to affix. The headlight is bright but has a limited beam width/height. There's not too many firmware settings besides top speed, although zero start is available if you don't like kicking off. Be careful: it's easy to accidentally push the throttle and swing your scooter forward! Modding: There's no major firmware modding groups for NIU, but their firmware has most of the features you'd want. It's easy to replace the handlebar grips and add accessories since it's a standard 22mm diameter. There's a repair manual available online and it's easy to access the 48V wires and put small electronics behind the dashboard (I'm adding turn signals and a brighter headlight). Unfortunately, there's no kits to "drop in" front or rear suspension, so you'd have to do a lot of fabrication. Ditto for a rear cargo rack, which is inconvenient when you're getting groceries. The competition: Below $800, you might be able to find suspension or dual motors, but I couldn't find reputable scooters that do the basics as well as the KQi3. At $850+, the Ninebot Max G2 is an excellent scooter, but rarely goes on sale or is available refurbished. It also has merely adequate brakes and worse performance below 50%, so I don't regret skipping it (although I am jealous of the better accessory options). ... show more

  • BEST BEGINNER KICK SCOOTER!
**UPDATE** You can’t change the back tire even with the right tools. It’s like designed that when your tires are worn out you should buy a new scooter. Found out that the rim connecting to the motor got a crack and is unsafe to ride.. Don’t buy this scooter I bought this scooter for home to work transportation 5miles back and forth, I’ve been using this bad boi for almost a month now, I did get some problems but I figured out how to fix them Let’s start with the pros: -price (can’t beat the price on this one, super cheap compared to 20mph kick scooters in the market) -torque ( I’m 280lbs and this scooter carries me around and up small hills) -brakes ( the 2 disc breaks are a win, I got to a complete stop when I wanted to) -lights ( there’s a ring light that’s always on and the actual head light is really bright, the brake lights are really bright too) -handle bar (maybe one of my favorite feat about this scooter is the handle bar, really comfortable I’m 5’11 and the handle bars are perfect height for me, not to mention the grips, it doesn’t slide off!!) -deck/kickstand (pretty decent sized deck with a nice kick stand plus the cover for the charging port is very nice and easy to access) -bell ( I hate the mechanical bells but that this bell is loud) Now with the cons: -i had a 07 error code when the scooter got wet (rain) it means brake malfunction, but my brakes are ok, I figured the inside of the brake’s wirings got wet. Dried it out and then I’m good to go again -error code 00 which won’t let me connect to my mobile phone anymore (which idc because I only used the app to unlock the cruise mode) -battery life is a little mediocre but I understand because of my weight, I’m like two people riding the scooter at once so it’s not a big deal (I’m 280lbs and still manage to travel 5miles in total and still have 2bars of battery left -max speed is 17mph not 20mph even tho it says on the scooter that you’re on 20mph but on the app it says 17mph (even on other navigation apps that shows your speed) As of for now the scooter is still going strong and brings me to work and back. Will update my review after another month *UPDATE* -Back Tires starting to wear off and have a couple of small holes already. (Note: I’m 280lbs so I am the one to blame for this and I use this scooter everyday for work) -error code 00 was fixed by itself, I can connect my phone with the scooter again -battery life still going strong -disc break pads are still good no breaking issues -back disc break got bent a little, all I have to do is straighten it out and I’m good to go again ******* ... show more
