Unreliable buggy scooter and suspension sucks. I just got this scooter from a lightning deal. The battery life is very poor with a 15 minute trip draining 30% battery. Its also extremely unreliable with starting the scooter requiring some combination of opening the app, clicking the power button on the scooter, power cycling the app and scooter, until finally a lucky squeeze on the "gas" handle suddenly sends it flying. I've had other scooters before - simpler, better battery life, and more reliable for the same price or less.

It definitely feels premium for the size and price, but with experience with other scooters in this price point/size it does feel a little underwhelming in the acceleration and top speeds, but other than that. It feels amazing to ride along, very shock absorbent compared to other scooters this size and price. It looks great, the build quality and parts quality is a lot higher than something you'd find from a generic scooter manufacturer. If you're into scooters you already know the batteries and controller are top of the line. Which is typically most important for long term usability. So far I've had it about half a year and still havent noticed any battery degradation. I've had other models loose roughly 20-30% by this time of use, so its holding together incredibly. Speeds are the same, distance is the same. I recommend using the battery saving mode and only charge to 80 or 90 on typical rides, only use 100% if you absolutely need that extra distance and it will really help maintain it for years to come. Only reason its a 4 and not 5 is the lackluster power and torque for being a "hill climber" but to be fair, I am 235 pounds. So Im sure someone 50-60 pounds lighter would have a much better experience in that category. So keep that in mind too.

I knew I was getting in at entry level with my first scooter. I wasn’t quite sure of my needs and started basic. The good: it feels sturdy, it gets to speed, it folds up nicely, and it’s been a nice ride. The “bad”: Doesn’t get close to advertised distance, even with riding slower. Customer service has been rough - It didn’t come with the screws, hose extension, and wrench kit. I’ve been trying to get customer service to send it. We’re at close to 6 weeks and they still haven’t shipped the package. The deck also cracked/chipped already. I can’t even figure out how, but the plastic seems incredibly brittle. Overall, I guess the low price is an indicator of the mixed quality, though the issue with the toolkit is ridiculous and should be a quick solve.

Let me just say this: the NIU K100F/K300X/AIR Electric Scooter is an absolute BEAST. My two teenage boys and I ride this thing everywhere—into town, to the store, around the neighborhood, and even on trips along the Cape Cod Canal. At this point, I’m pretty sure the scooter gets more fresh air than I do. Power? Oh, it’s got power. This thing has 600W–900W of “hold on tight and pray you charged your phone for GPS” power. It zips up hills, cruises on flats, and makes me feel way cooler than a grown adult should feel on a scooter. Battery life? Amazing. I swear this thing charges once, then runs for three days straight out of pure determination. We ride it all over creation and it still comes back with enough juice to judge my driving. Range? Perfect for the boys, perfect for me, and perfect for pretending we’re in a high-speed chase… at a reasonable, parent-acceptable speed. The best part? My teens actually want to hang out with me now. They see me grab the scooter key and suddenly they’re like, “Dad, wait for us!” I don’t question it. I just enjoy the moment. If you’re considering this scooter—stop considering. Buy it. Ride it. Let it improve your life in ways therapy can’t. 10/10 — would absolutely buy again and may or may not fight my kids for riding time.

The media could not be loaded. I ordered a brand-new NIU KQi 100F, and it arrived completely dead, wouldn’t turn on even after hours of charging. Despite being under a 2-year warranty, NIU’s customer service is beyond unacceptable. They made me raise multiple tickets, repeat the same issue over and over, and contact them 10+ times with zero real help. It’s clear their strategy is to frustrate customers into giving up on warranty claims rather than honoring them. For a company selling “premium” scooters, their post-purchase support is pathetic, slow, and utterly unprofessional. This has been one of the worst product and service experiences I’ve ever had. Avoid NIU unless you want to waste your time, money, and patience.

This is hands down the best scooter for the price. The front suspension and air filled tires make the ride incredibly smooth especially compared to solid tires, which tend to amplify every bump and vibration. The handlebar is a bit long, but it folds down, which is great for storage. I added a phone mount, though, so now I can’t fold it anymore. It’s a trade-off I had to make, but I do wish the handlebar were shorter to make it easier to navigate tight spaces and add more accessories. Battery capacity is modest, but for my daily commute which is flat and not very long this scooter is my best ally. It helps me avoid traffic and get to my destination quickly. Plus, its folding design and lightweight build make it super easy to carry up to my apartment without breaking a sweat.
