Like many who think the OEM sunshade from Atomos is ridiculously over priced for what it is, Nitze comes to the rescue! Not only do you get a sunshade but Nitze includes a sturdy monitor cage with cable hold downs and a tilting/rotating monitor mount for hot shoe for a few dollars more than the original sunshade alone. The cage also has two additional cold shoe mounting points on top. My Atomos Ninja V fits perfectly and very securely in the cage. Although the sunshade is removable as it employs Velcro loop fasteners, it can be a pain to fish the ends back through the holes once the monitor/recorder is mounted. I just leave it on the recorder all the time with no problems. The sunshade is a bit sturdier than the OEM one I have on the older 5 inch Ninja that I use with my C100. This is a great value! And I would not hesitate to order more products from Nitze again in the future.

I actually was only wanting a sunscreen but then thought having a cage wouldn't be a bad idea. It came in and I love the cage. A great price for it compared to others and is just as good. The sunscreen is a little challenging putting it on. I was hoping for a quick and easy on and off as with my work I will need to do that. That's not the case with this one. It just takes too long. So really you will need to just leave it on. The problem though is it really cuts off the field of view on the sides. I shoot with a gimbal a lot and I move the camera around with my arms so I look at the monitor slightly from the side a lot and the shade just completely blocks the screen. If you're shooting more traditional shoulder mounted straight on with the viewfinder this will work great.

A nice cage with several mounting points, two cold shoes. The monitor shield is very sturdy, thick. Included with the monitor cold shoe mount is a 3/4 16 to 1/4 20 adaptor for the hole in the bottom (3/4 16) - so you have three options for mounting the monitor via supplied cold shoe. There is also a cable protector for the HDMI ports. Very useful, well designed. The bracket comes assembled. I found that after placing the cage onto the monitor, loosening and re-tightening the small hex nuts allowed the cage to square perfectly with the monitor. Of note, these are torqued on pretty well- high risk of stripping if not careful.

The Nitze Ninja V kit fits the Atomos Ninja V perfectly. I know that most people said that it's easy to attach but it actually took me a few minutes to do. There are no instructions that come with it. I looked at some YouTube videos but they all had additional items to attach which kind of thru me off. Since everything came in the box that was pictured on Amazon, I figured that I had what I needed. I decided to put one of the larger screws in the bottom of the cage and the other in the top of the cage. And it worked. And as far as the HDMI holder, naturally it goes on the side with the hdmi in/outputs and is attached with the smaller screws. Hopefully this can help someone else who is thinking about purchasing this fine product.

One of my favorite brands knocks it out the park again, with this awesome Cage for the NInja V! The kit came with a very sturdy red & black shoe mount to attach your Ninja V to nearly anywhere on your rig. The sunhood is nice to have for outdoors, as you can see in my photos from a shoot in Malibu! It attaches to the cage with velcro, so its easy to trim down your rig when you go indoors. But now to the best part, the cage! TONS of mounting options, and a screw tightend clamp to secure all your cables. Best value add-on for the Ninja V!

Definitely excited that I purchased this. The price is one thing (super affordable) but how clean and snug this fits is a whole other level of YESSSS! I'm using the cold shoe mount on a Nitze handle and it looks and feels great. The cover for the screen is awesome because you can un-do the side straps, and loosen the top straps and it can lay flat for easy storage while still being connected to the screen recorder - I wasn't expecting that at all. The one thing that is always frustrating about the Ninja is it only has a top and bottom mount, but with this cage, I have so many options on mounting positions. On the bottom of the cage I can offset the recorder left or right based on the 3 mounting locations and since I also have the swivel mount with the cold shoe, any angle I need is easy to lock the screen in. That's huge! On top of all that, the arri locking holes are such a lifesaver to keep everything bolted down in the position I want it! Definitely worth the purchase! P.S. Shipping was super fast and everything arrived packaged professionally.

I use this with my shinobi monitor. It fits every curve of the monitor like a glove. Super light. Sunshade is included and works great. 2 things I wish for...first, nato rails top and bottom and second a way to fold the shade without taking it off. Overall I am a big fan of this kit..and am a big fan of Nitze...their product is consistently well designed, well finished...I rate the brand a shade higher than small rig...wish they sell more of their stuff on Amazon.
