Wow! So I never have written a review but I had to on this product. I have short, soft hair but struggling to find a product to give it volume without weighing it down. I’ve tried so many. I like the Nioxin shampoo (despite high price) so tried this gel. Works better than most. This is a really good brand for thin, thinning and fly-away hair. Only issue is directions on tube call for 1.5 inches per application and that is WAY too much. !/4 inch is more like it for short hair. But a petty issue. ... show more

    • Doesn't Thicken; Adds Texture.
This is a bit pricy for a hair texturizer. I didn't really feel like it thickened my hair that much if at all. It gave my hair a good texture, so it was kind of like styling powder. Once the hair was dry, you could place it however you wanted and it would sort of stay there for awhile. My hair FELT thicker but it didn't really LOOK thicker, so maybe that is what they mean by thickening. I don't care how it feels, I wanted the illusion of thicker hair without having to use those fiber shakers. This gave the same effect as a sea salt spray. I have short, fine, thin hair. I use about a large pea-sized amount on my damp hair after my shower, comb it through, and blow-dry as usual. Unlike other products that make this claim, this product seems to actually work to add body and thickness to my hair.
