Amazing build quality and design, definitely the best gamecube controller you can get. The buttons have a very solid feel and they are smooth to press. Doesn't feel like there's anything off about the buttons or analog sticks, they perform perfectly. The material of the controller is definitely not made out or cheap plastic, and you can sense the quality put into the controller. Also, the wire of the controller is a decent length and you probably wouldn't have any issues with the length of it. My friend got a gamecube controller made by some third party and altough his controller looks the same, the feel was completely different and the buttons were not as smooth. The buttons on his controller feel very springy, and the bumpers do not work as well. His also stops working occasionally and we would have to unplug and replug the controller back to the adapter, whereas it never happens to my controller.

This is a brand new first party GameCube controller which works on the original GC and Wii, not just a differently shaped Wii U Pro Controller. If that alone isn't enough to sell you: it's a high quality GameCube controller from Nintendo themselves, and feels absolutely excellent. None of those low quality third party buttons that will likely end up dying on you after a few months, broken triggers, etc- this is the real deal, even if you are stuck with a Smash Bros logo on it. It is worth noting that the product I received was a Japanese version, but the differences are only on the box - the controller itself is identical to any other regional release, and there's no region locking or anything like that for standard controllers. Definitely worth a buy before getting a new one will run you a crazy amount of money in a few years.

Absolutely wonderful. I am so glad they released these, over the years I've lost my old gamecube controllers and was down to one WaveBird. Works great on the original Gamecube. This feels exactly like the old gamecube controllers. Sticks are nice and tight, buttons feel responsive, and the triggers give that super loud click just like the originals. Perfect. The frame plastic feels slightly different to me, it has more of a matte finish than I remember on the originals, but I like it. Hopefully they keep making these for awhile, because I plan on buying 2 more once my wedding is paid for and out of the way! If you're on the fence about this and need a controller for your GC, Wii or Wii U, stop thinking and just buy one of these. Absolutely worth the $25.

Great controller! I recently started playing Smash Melee, and have been using an older contoller model to learn tech skill. Then I bought this one and it works perfectly and even better! The L and R buttons work smoothly. The control stick is firm, and has good grip, its more accurate with quick directional inputs making it even easier to do some tech skill, particularly shield drops and certain wavedash angles between the notches. The contol stick is more responsive in general than my older one. quick button presses are more consistent for short hops ect. I tested my 2 controllers side by side with falco, fox, and a few other characters. Basicaly with the new one my character felt more mobile and more accurate. P.s. Melee is the best smash lol spacies.

This controller is great and feels just like the original from back in the day. The buttons are very responsive with 'crisp' tactile feel. The grip is basic (like the original controller) but comfortable. If you're new to the controller, and plan on playing a lot, be prepared for hand cramps/pains. Your hands are probably not used to the shape and button placements, so it will take a while for your hands to adjust. The L and R buttons have the same two levels of tactile response that the original controllers have, which is important for many games. The plastic is durable and does not feel like it will easily break. The buttons seem durable, but dedicated players (especially Super Smashers) will probably burn through at least one controller in their lifetime. If you're getting this to use with the Wii U or for PC, get "Mayflash GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U and PC USB, 4 Port" to go with it (links aren't working, sorry). Google guides for setting it up, and you'll be good to go. I use mine with it and Dolphin (emulator) and the responsiveness is AMAZING. The cord is really long (close to too long) which is the only thing that comes to a complaint about the controller. Would recommend.

I first bought this controller for someone else in April 2017 (for $35) and it arrived in great condition! I never heard any complaints from the owner thus I cannot comment on the quality, but it certainly looked fantastic in the box. Because of this and the fact that it was found at a decent price, the “Nintendo Super Smash Bros. Black Classic Gamecube Controller” gets a serviceable 3/5 stars!

The GameCube controller works really well. I bought this after my third-party controllers started to act up. All the buttons are responsive and everything works just fine. You can solidly feel when you press down the buttons. The buttons and control sticks were a bit too stiff at first, but after using the controller for a few hours, it is just to my liking. My only complaint is the Z button still is and probably will always be a bit more stiff than I would've preferred. Other than that, this is pretty much perfect. Also, as a United States resident, I can confirm that this controller works outside of Japan.
